Unfortunately, they also have to contend with the mob, yuppie drug dealers and the police. Michael Rapaport is amusing as Clarence's best friend who lives with Floyd, a stoner played by Brad Pitt. A sedate Dennis Hopper appears as Clarence's father, who ultimately faces off with mob boss Vincenzo Coccotti (Christopher Walken). Director Tony Scott (CRIMSON TIDE, ENEMY OF THE STATE) does justice to the violence and quirkiness of Quentin Tarantino's second feature film script.

After the success of 2004's MAN ON FIRE, director Tony Scott and Denzel Washington teamed up once again--this time alongside high-powered producer Jerry Bruckheimer--to deliver this big-budget spectacle of an action picture set in post-Katrina New Orleans. The city is delivered another crushing blow when a ferry explodes, killing over 500 innocent citizens. Only this time, nature wasn't the cause of the tragedy. Enter ATF officer Doug Carlin (Washington), who is recruited by a newly formed FBI unit (headed by Val Kilmer) to help track down the killer (a Timothy McVeigh-esque Jim Caviezel). When a body is found floating in the river, it is determined that the victim was murdered before the ferry blast occurred. Unfortunately, the victim was the impossibly beautiful Claire Kuchever (Paula Patton), whose death has begun to torment Carlin. Adding a new level to the investigation is a top-secret FBI invention, which allows a select group to view the past on screen as if it had been videotaped days earlier. The more Carlin sees of Kuchever, the more connected to her he becomes, until he decides to risk his life by traveling back in time and altering the course of history. Plausibility isn't the number one reason to watch a Jerry Bruckheimer movie, and DÉJÀ VU is certainly no exception. This time around, however, Bruckheimer wisely recruited Scott and Washington to bring their expertise to the project. The result is another stylish and atmospheric drama/thriller/romance/action-adventure hybrid, which raises interesting questions as it entertains.

The three form a kind of family, working under Claremont Williams (Delroy Lindo), who "plays Charlie to their three angels." For a time they are unstoppable, even agreeing to let the slimy Mark Heiss (Christopher Walken) produce a reality-TV show about them, which is hilariously hosted by Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green (BEVERLY HILLS 90210). A man of few words and many secrets, Creasy initially balks at Pita's attempts to befriend him, but soon a bond grows between the precocious child and this lonely man who is tormented by his past. When Pita is kidnapped despite Creasy's valiant attempts to save her, he will do anything to bring all of those involved to justice. His fury unravels a net of almost unimaginable corruption and greed in the process. Director Tony Scott (TOP GUN, CRIMSON TIDE) builds the relationship between Creasy and Pita in the first half of the film in order to justify Creasy's violent actions in the latter half, and in the process he does a fine job of keeping the film's tension consistently high.

Hackman's role is an extension of Harry Caul, the character he portrayed in Francis Ford Coppola's brilliant 1974 film, THE CONVERSATION. Smith scores as a man who is desperate to reclaim his identity and prove his innocence. This intense technological thrill-ride from director Tony Scott questions how much access the government should have to the communications of private citizens, and leaves the viewer with the unsettling feeling that Big Brother is definitely watching. Watch for the uncredited appearances of Jason Robards, Seth Green, Tom Sizemore, and Philip Baker Hall.

In the tradition of TOP GUN and TRUE ROMANCE, director Tony Scott keeps the tension running high in this fast-paced military thriller. Hackman scores as the tradition-bound Ramsey, and Washington is superb as the thoughtful young officer who feels compelled to take a stand against his superior.

Directed by Tony Scott, DAYS OF THUNDER is reminiscent of his TOP GUN, the film that rocketed Cruise to stardom. Scott uses spectacular driving and racing scenes in this film, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound.

Because of his dedication to his work, Jerry's personal life has disintegrated, and he's in the throes of a divorce. On Christmas Eve, an African American storekeeper is murdered, and, minutes later, an L.A. cop also goes down; Jerry is assigned to both cases. His research turns up the name Bobby Burns (Frank Military), a member of a white-supremacist organization who's currently on his way to a mass gathering of like-minded hate junkies in Oklahoma. The detective's investigation is joined by FBI agent Kressler (William Forsythe), a by-the-book type who does little but get in Jerry's way. Because of his sometimes unorthodox methods, Jerry is asked by his commander to be cleared for duty by the police psychiatrist or be taken off the case. Director Tony Scott (CRIMSON TIDE, ENEMY OF THE STATE) does justice to the violence and quirkiness of Quentin Tarantino's second feature film script.

Determined to succeed in the vocation he believes he was born for, Brashear enlists in the navy. When, after a long and difficult struggle, he is finally allowed into diving school, he finds himself under the authority of Billy Sunday (Robert De Niro), a former master diver whose injured lung has left him permanently above water.
