Don't buy the Margarator.

Pros: Attractive, portable
Cons: Leaks profusely. Does not crush whole ice cubes well.

Comments:
The unit is essentially a large blender with an insulated pitcher. If it worked without problems it would be worth the money. However, I found that the unit leaks a lot during use. Also, it doesn't deal with whole ice cubes well and the results are watery by the time it breaks them down. The unit is very noisey and needs to be run for 10 - 15 minutes at a time to make a gallon of slush. A good bar blender would be a better investment, even though it would need to be run more frequently. Read the rest of the review

Well, we puchsed a Margarator from Bed Bath and Beyond in Virginia. After the third use the motor just quit. We took it back. The store was VERY accomodating and provided a store credit with no questions asked. We decided we'd try it again, and got a new one. It worked fine for about 8 uses. The it started making this hideous noise and it was not blending anymore. Being a guy and not having the receipt any longer after moving to California...I took it apart to see what was broken.

I got this as a gift. Took it back because I thought it was faulty. The next one was the same. It does not crush the ice. I will stick to my blender.
