We meet Squam and Shomet as small children and watch them grow up to be parents themselves. Along the way we learn about Native American childrearing, hunting, agriculture, warfare, and spirituality. Bob Eaton's artwork opens up a whole new vista on a way of life that was ruthlessly destroyed by self-righteous invaders in only a few generations.
