TomTom XL 330S Auto / Road GPS
Considered by many to be a diamond in the rough, the XL 330s from TomTom is a perfect start for people who dont know exactly how they might use their GPS. While still fairly easy to operate, the TomTom XL330s includes many top-end features such as multi-destination routing, Text-to-Speech, and a widescreen display. With a tremendously loud speaker, this TomTom is a good match for people who dont want to part with louder music or have a noisy vehicle. The EasyPort (tm) mount makes this GPS easy to carry or transport between vehicles.
TomTom GO 720 Auto / Road GPS
Part serious navigation system, part fun entertainment, the TomTom 720 is a GPS you can personalize to match your style. Dont like the default voices? Record your own or record your kids our spouses. Dont like the map colors? Switch between many of the color schemes available. Want to change the blue wedge that represents you on the map? Change to a different vehicle icon or build your own.But dont take all of the fun to mean this isnt a serious navigation system. The 720 can plan a trip with several destinations all wrapped up in one route, it can be connected to an optional traffic receiver that gets live traffic updates, and if you come across an error in the mapping database you can make map corrections and share those changes with other TomTom users.

TomTom ONE 3rd Edition Auto / Road GPS
It can be hard to match the bang for your buck you get with the TomTom ONE 3rd Edition. Even on this entry level model you get TomToms MapShare feature-- one of the biggest innovations in GPS technologies recently. Find an error on the map? Correct or report it though MapShare and download changes from other users. Thinking you might want to connect a live traffic reporting receiver someday? An optional accessory is available to add live traffic information. The small size and small cost might make you think about carrying this GPS along while walking in a city-- but be careful as the battery life isnt quite as good as other models in this class and there is no hold switch to prevent accidental touch screen input, both features found on the similar Garmin Nuvi 200. Still, with MapShare, a Help Me! menu, and maps of the USA Canada, the ONE 3rd Edition is a great pick for a first auto GPS.
Easy to use. If shortest way, will route correctly including gravel roads. Easy to program. Estimated time of arrival has been within a minute. Speed is acturate. Clear screen easy to read. Can find place by corridents as will as street address.
Sounds like a good deal, but do your homework. This model only announces turns, not street names. Must download updated maps and daily!!!GPS-FIXes. USA Points of interest is terribly outdated and hard to select using POI touch screen menu, sends me to th

TomTom ONE XL-S Auto / Road GPS
Likely to be the least expensive TomTom model with a widescreen display and Text-to-Speech, the ONE XL-S still has many features that are only available on more top of the line models from other companies. For example this TomTom supports multi-destination routing so you can create one single route with multiple stops in the trip. The XL series is also compatible with optional traffic services which feed live traffic updates to the GPS.One of the few drawbacks to this model is that the processor speed isnt quite as good as other models. Routing and rerouting if you miss a turn are still fast, but some address searches, POI searches, and menu functions seem a little more sluggish than other models. This shouldnt delay you more than a few seconds however and the TomTom ONE XL-S offers one of the best values for GPS devices featuring a widescreen display.
The ease of useing it seemed liked I have always had it in the car. Big screen so I can see it while I am driving. Good addressing and finding places around the area like motels and restuarants seems like I will use it quite often when traveling. Planning a trip to Washington DC and will surely be using it. Some of the names announced are not quite right but noone gets Seguin Texas right it is always sounded out like Sequin the bead and with the "g" sound but if you can overcompensate for the sound you will do alright.

TomTom GO 730 Auto / Road GPS
Wouldnt it be nice if there was GPS that recorded the actual amount of time it takes drivers to travel over each road segment, and then used that data to calculate estimated travel times? Enter the TomTom 730. Using anonymous data from other TomTom users, routes and estimated travel times are now based in part on data from other drivers with TomTom devices. In many areas the data (dubbed IQ routes) makes a huge difference in route quality and time estimates over previous TomTom models.Another new feature is Active Lane Guidance which can help you determine not only which direction an exit leaves the highway, but also which lane you need to be in to take that exit. People who live on the Interstate will appreciate the feature, however right now that data is only sparsely available. An optional traffic receiver can also add to the intelligence of this super smart GPS.
Worthy successor to the Go 720 T, the GO 730 Traffic especially sets itself apart with the addition of IQ Routes which optimizes trips by taking into account the actual average speeds on roads.

When it comes to in-car GPS, TomTom has always been of the philosophy that its products should be about navigation first. The company doesn't spend much time fussing over extras like multimedia, but rather focuses energy on navigation tools that will help
TomTom ONE 130S Auto / Road GPS - Clamshell
Powerful performance in a simple package. Perhaps the primary reason to pick the ONE 130s is the EasyPort mount. Currently unique to TomTom, this mount style makes it easy to take the GPS with you when you leave the car-- mount included, and slip it into your pocket or purse. No other GPS + mount combination will fold into such as small size... no more excuses to leave the GPS in the car.But dont let these conveniences fool you into thinking this GPS is a slouch. While it doesnt have as good of battery life as other devices in this class, the TomTom ONE 130s will speak street names in addition to directions, can be connected to an optional traffic receiver, and allows users to make and share map corrections with other TomTom users. If the innovative mount doesnt appeal to you, consider the Garmin Nuvi 260. Or if your eyes would be happier with a widescreen, look at the TomTom XL 330s. Otherwise, the 130s will be a solid companion for your next trip.

If you just need a GPS to get you from place to place with little fuss, The TomTom 125 should be on your short-list. There are two outstanding pieces to the TomTom 125, a loud speaker and the EasyPort (tm) mount. The innovative mount makes it easy to carry both the GPS and the mount in a convenient package-- something most other GPS packages cant say. While the TomTom 125 does come with a car charger to keep the GPS working while in a vehicle, the battery life is poor if you need to use the device away from power for any length of time. But in the car that wont be an issue and this easy to use GPS is a pleasure to use.
