Comments:
I've been a relatively "early adapter" when it comes to buying new video camera technology. I started back with the 8 mm analog Sony "handy-cams", moved to the digital Super-VHS 8 mm RCA mini-camcorders and now am at this junction in the evolutionary ...

QuickTake:

Pros: Outstanding VIDEO At 720p resolution. 1080i playback is smooth on my Intel Quad Extreme ; Uses compressed mp4, Focusing is weak ; I use Semi-Manual Focus for outstanding results. NOT for a beginner.. Get a Canon HG10 if you are looking to go High Def....
Cons: You need a very high end PC to Play back 1080i .mp4s I always use and recommend to use 720p MODE which does 60 Frames per second unlike 1080i which is 60 FIELDS (aka 30 FPS)

Product Rating: 3 star(s) Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000

, Nov. 17, 2007
Comments:

Review Verdict: As with Sony's consumer HD camcorders, the Sanyo relies on a CMOS sensor rather than a CCD one. Despite the HD1000's diminutive proportions, the CMOS sensor used is a hefty 1/2.5in model, with a 4-megapixel resolution. This is actually larger and with...
