The PD-F407 will store up to three different schemes; you might enter in a personal catalog that excludes all of your spouse's country discs, for example, while your spouse programs a no show tunes selection. If only one person is using the changer, there's a simpler approach to programming the jukebox using the best selection feature -- just press the aptly-labeled BEST button when a favorite song is playing and the selection will be added to a personal playlist. Up to fifteen tracks can be stored this way.

Pioneer's PD-F1009 is a 301-disc CD changer. It's a mammoth-sized unit with a front-panel jog/shuttle dial that'll help you navigate your disc library. This unit is CD Text compatible, meaning that it will automatically display the artist name and song title when you call up a CD Text-encoded CD. (This information is encoded on most, but not all, commercially pressed CDs.) What's more, unlike most CD players on the market, the PD-F1009 is able to play back CD-RWs (rewritables). The PD-F1009 has an analog stereo output (fed by its internal 1-bit digital-to-analog converter) and a Toslink optical digital audio output for connection to a Dolby Digital receiver or preamplifier/processor. Its single-loader mechanism makes it easy to load, play and retrieve a single CD.
