Pioneer's PD-F1009 is a 301-disc CD changer. It's a mammoth-sized unit with a front-panel jog/shuttle dial that'll help you navigate your disc library. This unit is CD Text compatible, meaning that it will automatically display the artist name and song title when you call up a CD Text-encoded CD. (This information is encoded on most, but not all, commercially pressed CDs.) What's more, unlike most CD players on the market, the PD-F1009 is able to play back CD-RWs (rewritables). The PD-F1009 has an analog stereo output (fed by its internal 1-bit digital-to-analog converter) and a Toslink optical digital audio output for connection to a Dolby Digital receiver or preamplifier/processor. Its single-loader mechanism makes it easy to load, play and retrieve a single CD.

Sony's CDP-CX335 CD megachanger is loaded with features to keep up to 300-discs organized and available to you at the touch of a button.For starters, Group File allows you to sort your collection into eight groups or categories. Also, if you pop in a CD Text-compatible disc, the changer will flash such info as the artist's name and track titles on its front-panel LCD (liquid crystal display). Most commercially released CDs are encoded with this info, but you can connect an optional keyboard to enter titles for those that aren't.Sony's Custom File Disc Memo stores the data for up to 600 CDs, even if you should remove and later re-insert them. The CDP-CX335 also sports two jog/shuttle dials for disc and track selection.This changer covers the connectivity bases with both an analog line (RCA) output and an optical digital output. Use the digital output to send music in the digital domain for conversion to analog sound by a Dolby Digital A/V receiver or a dedicated outboard digital-to-analog converter. You can also use the digital output to record onto MiniDisc or CD-R.If 300 discs aren't enough for you, have no fears. The company's Advanced MegaStorage Control permits the CDP-CX335 to be daisy-chained with another Sony CD player. Plus, you'll be able to operate both players via the CDP-CX335's front panel.
