Featured Review by Jon V. Sevigny: I have owned two 1009 and two of the older models (1007) and have had nothing but problems. All four units were in and out of the repair shop (40 miles away) at least three times each. One unit was completely replaced and started skipping songs and cutting out in the middle of a cut, the day it arrived. I like the concept but loading, entering text and unloading due to malfunction over twenty times it just too much. I will try someother brand or go directly to hard drives. Featured Review by Mike M.: I love the machine. However, it wows when I play back CD's. Honestly, I have only loaded 5 disks in at one time and have had little time to play with it. The purpose of this review is to inform readers of Sony's response. It is June 25, 2003 and I just dropped it off at the local service center. It should be ready in 10 days. Featured Review by bill: The advertised low total harmonic distortion actually is true. The occasional disk which is buzzy with distortion sounds better than on my previous Sony player (I mean to say that I no longer have to turn the treble all the way off for certain CDs).
