Featured Review by aokmok: I read a lot of bad reviews on the Black and Decker Spacemaker but decided since I owned one of the early models which I liked that I would try it. The first one I bought the clock gained time but worked great other than that. The spring on the brewing basket was so strong it would try to push out on the basket when you put the pot in. I think thats why the brewing basket pops out on some of them . I just took the spring out and cliped it shorter to make it weaker and it worked fine after that. The second one i guess the factory made the spring weaker because it works fine and the clock is right on time. The basket drips a few drops of water while brewing.( Its a coffeemaker...give me a break )If i was a spacemaker fan i wouldn't give up on this model.They seem to have made some changes for the better. Featured Review by beachballs: Purchased the product despite reading complaints that this coffee maker is hard to clean and noisy. WHAT? Okay, you do spend about minute cleaning the filter and the grinding area but it does grind and brew in one machine so the clean-up seems easy enough and expected. Yes, it's more than just taking a filter out. Noise? Minimal. Sounds like a coffee bean grinder... which it is. This brand is actually quieter than we expected. So this one is GREAT and would recommend if you're looking for a maker that grinds and brews in one nice looking machine. We would prefer an option on grinding. Something a little finer as we seem to use more coffee beans. We buy a new one about every year due to our use and consumption. Featured Review by biker: Other users noted the fragile plastic parts but we have not had breakage of any parts. At times, the lid does resist closing but this is due to the drive not aligning with the blades in the basket.
