"Harmful If Swallowed [PA]" (07/22/2003) Comedy Cook, Dane, Comedy Central Records
Dane Cook's CD is one of the best comedy cds that have come out in awhile. Full of laughs and it brings you back to younger years at his references of things. I would recommend this cd to anyone who wants a good laugh. Those offended by swearing need not
A Wild & Crazy Guy by Steve Martin (CD - 1989)
"A Wild & Crazy Guy" (1989) Comedy Martin, Steve, Warner Bros. Records (Record Label)'80s funnyman Steve Martin's follow-up to LET'S GET SMALL finds everyone's favorite rubberhead in the coterie of the stars. At this point, Martin was a national phenomenon, having already moved beyond nightclubs into stadiums. His stature was that of a juggernaut rock band. Martin's film debut ("The Jerk") helped to solidify his superstar status, as did the hit single "King Tut" (included here) and his frequent (and brilliantly hilarious) appearances on NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, where the "wild and crazy guy" moniker originated and stuck. A WILD AND CRAZY GUY is split between a single San Francisco gig and one of Martin's first stadium extravaganzas before a mob of adoring fans. Martin is at his comedic apotheosis here, meshing surrealism and slapstick into a howlingly funny whole. Among the featured routines are Martin's classic "rubberheads throw fish" bit and his sidesplitting soliloquy about religion and philosophy ("In philosophy, you learn just enough to screw you up for the rest of your life").

That Was the Year That Was by Tom Lehrer (CD - 04/24/1990)
"That Was the Year That Was" (04/24/1990) Comedy Lehrer, Tom, RepriseImagine a Harvard professor (which he was) with a gift for the piano (which he had), and the iconoclastic humorous bent of a Lenny Bruce or George Carlin (right on the money), and you'll get a good picture of musical humorist Tom Lehrer, whose delightfully twisted ditties presaged the counterculture of both the Beats and the hippies. Unlike those bohemian types, Lehrer never let it all hang out; his professorial demeanor was part of his shtick, making his outrageous lyrical content all the more effective. Though he was a key comedic figure throughout the '50s, THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS is Lehrer's only '60s studio recording, and his last before his early retirement from music. No stone is left unturned, as he skewers the Catholic church to ragtime accompaniment on "The Vatican Rag," mocks phony liberalism and racial unrest in "National Brotherhood Week," and takes a well-aimed shot at the then-current folk revival in "The Folk Song Army."

Something Like This: The Bob Newhart Anthology * by Bob Newhart (CD - 03/20/2001)
"Something Like This: The Bob Newhart Anthology *" (03/20/2001) Comedy Newhart, Bob, Warner ArchivesProducers include: Jimmy Hilliard. Compilation producer: Bill Inglot. Engineers include: Lee Herschberg. Recorded between 1960 & 1967. Includes liner notes by Bill Inglot and Judy Brown. Unique among even the most cutting-edge standup comics of the '60s, Bob Newhart entertained his audiences not with snappy patter and jokes, but with long monologues in which his voice represented one side of a conversation, the other side left to the listener's imagination. This idiosyncratic format proved endlessly adaptable, as Newhart spun seemingly endless scenarios from it. Before he became a beloved TV star with the Bob Newhart Show, he released several popular comedy albums, from which the best moments have been culled for inclusion on this definitive two-disc compilation. Whether he's advising Abraham Lincoln, confronting King Kong, or getting blitzed at a retirement party (among other comedic situations to be found here), Newhart employs his patented mild-mannered, "button-down" personality to subtle but sharp comic effect.
Off the Deep End by Weird Al Yankovic (CD - 09/01/1998)
Tenacious D [PA] by Tenacious D (CD - 10/16/2001)
"Tenacious D [PA]" (10/16/2001) Comedy Tenacious D, Epic (USA)Tenacious D: Kyle Gass (vocals, acoustic guitar); Jack Black (vocals, guitar). Additional personnel includes: David Grohl (guitar, drums, background vocals); Warren Fitzgerald, Ken Andrews (guitar); Woody Jackson (sitar); Andrew Gross (strings); Page McConnell (keyboards); Steve McDonald (bass); Alfredo Ortiz (percussion); John King (echoplex). Recorded at The Boat, Silverlake, California. Tenacious D: Kyle Gass, Jack Black. Recording information: The Boat, Silverlake, California. If you never caught their short-lived TV show, you'll probably be most familiar with Tenacious D through the appearance of singer Jack Black as the bile-spitting music geek in the film HIGH FIDELITY. The sarcastic humor Black employed in that movie is a clue to the sound of his duo Tenacious D. With his partner Kyle Gass, Black digs into various areas of rock mythology and skewers them in fine comedic style. Whether he's delivering a mock-metal ode to heavy metal hero Ronnie James Dio in the appropriately titled "Dio" or indulging in too-outrageous-to-be-crass single-entendre sexual humor on "Kielbasa," Black's humor is always spot-on. While his no-holds-barred approach may be too much for some, those with a taste for the tasteless will find unending laughter in this disc.

Retaliation [CD & DVD] [Digipak] [7/26] *
"Retaliation [Digipak]" (07/26/2005) Comedy Cook, Dane, Comedy Central RecordsPersonnel: Dane Cook (spoken vocals). Recording information: The Comedy Connection, Boston, Massachusetts (2005). Logos are usually reserved for brand names, rock bands, and superheroes, but comedian Dane Cook has acquired his own logo--the Superfinger. This tricked-out variation of the middle finger embodies Cook's irreverent style of humor, and, on the one-CD/one-DVD set RETALIATION, recorded live in Boston, there's plenty of his quirky, in-your-face banter. Here the Massachusetts native waxes profane on being "Abducted" into alien spaceships ("I'm interested. I'm here for you. Don't suck me up by my chest."), "Superpowers" ("I'd like to be able to shoot spaghetti out of my fingertips."), and "The Friend Nobody Likes" ("You keep them [around] to hate their guts."). Like the crass buddy you can't help but laugh at, Cook isn't afraid to offend, and his carefree, often-absurd routines are sure to keep listeners chuckling, while waving their Superfingers in the air.
Superhero [PA] by Stephen Lynch (CD - 01/14/2003)

Recorded at Classic Sound, Gotham Copmedy Club, New York, New York; Rascal's Comedy Club, West Orange, New Jersey; Rascal's Comedy Club, Ocean Township, New Jersey; Governor's, Levittown, New York.
This is the funniest stuff I've ever heard!! I would recommend this to anyone with a sense of humor. Every song on this CD made me laugh. CAUTION: Go to the bathroom before listening. Failing to do so will make you pee thy pants.
Bipolar and Proud by Cledus T. Judd (CD - 08/24/2004)
"Bipolar and Proud" (08/24/2004) Comedy Judd, Cledus T., Koch Records (USA)This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Personnel include: Cledus T. Judd (vocals); Scotty Emerick, Toby Keith (vocals); Mike Severs (guitar); Pat Flynn (acoustic guitar); Russ Pahl (electric guitar, steel guitar); Troy Lancaster (electric guitar); Glen Duncan (mandolin, fiddle); Gary Smith (keyboards); Larry Paxton (bass guitar); Paul Scholten (drums, percussion). Known far and wide as the Weird Al Yankovic of country music, Cledus T. Judd has carved out a successful recording career by parodying hit country songs. Hardly the shy, retiring type, Judd attacks his subjects with all the subtlety of a Mack truck, and that's just the way his considerable fanbase likes it. Judd pulls no punches on BIPOLAR AND PROUD, going after some of the biggest stars in Nashville. In his hands, Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" becomes the goofy car-racing ode "I Love NASCAR." Gretchen Wilson's rowdy breakout smash "Redneck Woman" is transmuted into "Paycheck Woman," in which Judd demands that his mate bring home the bacon. Playing up to the conservative quotient of the country audience, Judd uses one of the Dixie Chicks' own songs as the template for a satire of their outspoken anti-George W. Bush statements. Those who aren't ready to stop laughing when Judd turns serious on the non-satirical, tears-of-a-clown ballad "Funny Man" can just head back to track one and start all over again.
