Opposite of Sex
Sixteen-year-old Deedee runs away from Louisiana to live with her half-brother Bill, an English teacher who happens to be gay. Lucia, Bill's sexually-repressed best friend, distrusts her. These suspicions are confirmed when Deedee lures Bill's boyfriend into bed and talks him into stealing $10,000 from Bill and running away with her to Los Angeles. To make matters worse for Bill, his bitter ex-lover frames him for sexual harassment, causing a scandal in their quiet town. This forces him and Lucia to go on a wild chase in search of Matt and Deedee in order to clear his name. They are joined by Sheriff Carl Tippett, a friend, who begins to fall in love with Lucia. A black comedy about what people must go through in order to find "the opposite of sex" - lasting, committed, and loving relationships.
Good Boy! (Follow Along Edition) [DVD]
Ten year-old dog walker Owen (Liam Aiken) takes a trip to the pound and picks out an adorable, pensive mutt he decides to call "Hubble." What Liam doesn't know is that Hubble has just arrived from Sirius (The Dog Star) for the purpose of checking up on the canine colonization that began thousands of years ago. A trip to Hubble's crashed spacecraft allows Liam to hear his new pal's voice (Matthew Broderick), along with those of the five dogs he routinely walks: robust Boxer Wilson (Donald Faison), jittery Italian Greyhound Nelly (Brittany Murphy), flatulent Burmese Mountain Dog Shep (Carl Reiner), and high-maintenance Poodle Barbara Ann (Delta Burke). Hubble is greatly troubled to discover that his kind have become pets on Earth, a fact that he is rather nervous to have to report to his leader, the Greater Dane (voiced by Vanessa Redgrave)--who will be arriving on Earth very shortly to check up on the colonization. A family film that provides ample amusement for dog lovers of any age, GOOD BOY is as close as anyone will get to hearing man's best friend talk. The illusion was skillfully created by the reliable Jim Henson Creature Shop, and young Aiken's performance makes the illusion all the more believable. The vocal talents of Broderick, Murphy, Faison, Reiner, and Burke give distinct personalities to their characters, with each getting their own moment to shine.
Sex and the City: The Complete Fifth Season

Naked Brothers Band Season 1 (2-Disc Set) [DVD]
Created by actress Polly Draper (THIRTYSOMETHING), Nickelodeon's THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND plays like a surprisingly clever and kid-friendly take on THIS IS IS SPINAL TAP. Spun off from the NAKED BROTHERS BAND movie, this charming sitcom centers on an all-kid rock band led by a pair of brothers, nine-year-old Nat and six-year-old Alex (Nat and Alex Wolff, Draper's real-life sons), who comically struggle with child-musician pratfalls like creative differences, soda-pop addictions, and 20-year-old babysitters. This collection presents all 13 episodes of the series' debut season.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians - Season 1 [DVD]
She's a tabloid-friendly socialite and the infamous star of a scandalous video. No, it's not the svelte, golden-tressed Paris Hilton. It's the shapely, raven-haired Kim Kardashian, and she wants you to meet her family. Her uniformly initialed sisters Kourtney and Khloe co-own a posh California women's boutique and squabble as only millionaire siblings can. Mom Kris, after passing on to her children the family name of late O.J. Simpson trial lawyer Robert Kardashian, has gotten remarried to former Olympian Bruce Jenner. The Jenner daughters, Kendall and Kylie, continue with the whole "K" theme and look up to their big half-sisters. Meanwhile, their brother Robert, the only boy in the bunch, just tries to steer clear of the estrogen (and Kim's famously sizable rump) whenever possible. In the freshman season of this addictive reality series, viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at a specific part of show business when Kim makes an appearance on Tyra Banks's talk show. Later, the ample-bottomed style maven "fires" her manager mother before posing for Playboy and heading out to Mexico with her sisters, leaving stepbrother Brody Jenner to babysit little Kylie. Meanwhile, Khloe gets arrested for a DUI and Kourtney, who may or not be pregnant, sees some of her own scandalous photos resurface. Don't miss a minute with the sometimes hilarious, always outrageous Kardashian brood.

Plenty of hijinks are in store for the two roommates as they get a crash course in the ways of the opposite sex. Family Guy - Volume 1: Seasons 1 & 2 (4-Disc Set; iTunes Sampler) [DVD]
Peter Griffin yearns to be a champion dad for his family, but in his attempts he only winds up making a ridiculous fool of himself. While he looks over his two teenagers and his baby (who has an English accent and is keen on dominating the world), it's abundantly clear that the family dog is the smartest member of the Griffin clan. This collection contains 28 episodes of irreverent humor combining the satire of The Simpsons with the gross-out slapstick of South Park during the animated show's unfortunately short run.

Sex and the City: The Sixth Season - Part 1
HBO's four most fabulous Manhattanites are back for another season of sex, laughs, and loves. Columnist Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her trusty friends Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Samantha (Kim Cattrall), are once again caught up in the wild lifestyle of New York City, doing their best to balance love and life and friendship and, you guessed it, shopping. This release contains the first twelve episodes of the show's sixth and final season.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2-Disc Set) [DVD]
As its explicit title suggests, Kevin Smith's ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO is a foul-mouthed and filthy film that probably isn't fit for the very young, the very old, or the easily offended. But for those who enjoy Smith's brand of humor, this raunchy but romantic comedy could be the perfect date movie (though perhaps not for a first date). With mountains of past-due bills piling up, Zack (Seth Rogen, KNOCKED UP) and his roommate/childhood friend Miri (Elizabeth Banks, SCRUBS) aren't sure how they're going to stay in their Pittsburgh apartment. But a chance encounter at their 10-year reunion gives them the idea to make a porn movie. When it comes time for the friends to do the deed, they realize that perhaps they're more than just friends. With all the talk of sexual positions and bodily functions, it'd be easy to say that Smith is hopping on the Judd Apatow bandwagon that has dominated the box office in the latter half of the aughts with KNOCKED UP and THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, and ZACK AND MIRI even features a few Apatow alumni. But Smith perfected this schtick down back in the '90s with CLERKS, when some of Apatow's fans were still in diapers. ZACK AND MIRI is most reminscent of Smith's own CHASING AMY; there are plenty of gag- or giggle-inducing moments, but Smith's script is also surprisingly sweet. Rogen and Banks make a perfect couple, and the always hilarious Rogen could be Smith's new Ben Affleck or Jason Lee.
Blind Dating (Valentine Faceplate) [DVD]
Hollywood couple Jane Seymour (DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN) and James Keach (DISEASE OF THE WIND) team up to produce this romantic comedy that works hard to tug on the heartstrings. Keach, a former actor turned director/producer, who is known for his close relationship with Johnny Cash, directs this tale about a blind Everyman looking for love. Danny (the charismatic Chris Pine, SMOKIN' ACES) has been blind since birth, and has had trouble with women because of his overprotective family. However, many of those close to Danny want to help with his situation: his mischievous, limo-driving brother Larry (Eddie Kaye Thomas, HAROLD AND KUMAR 2) sets him up on a series of blind dates, while his therapist (Jane Seymour) goes beyond the call of duty when she learns that Danny is a virgin. Danny becomes convinced that his blindness is to blame for his lack of amorous success, and undertakes an experimental remedy that helps him regain partial sight through a micro-chip implanted in his brain. Ultimately, Danny believes he's found love with the eye doctor's receptionist, Leeza (Anjali Jay), but their relationship is complicated by Leeza's arranged engagement. Although somewhat schizophrenic in tone and subject matter, BLIND DATING succeeds as a heartwarming tale of love triumphing against all odds--and rather bizarre ones, at that.
The Peter Sellers Collection (4-Disc Set) [DVD]

Jeff Dunham - Very Special Christmas Special [DVD]
Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham pulls out all the stops--and puppets--for this holiday comedy special that's fit for the whole family. The irreverent performer celebrates the season with all of his foam-and-fur cohorts: Peanut, an odd purple creature with a fast (and flaming) mouth; Jose Jalapeño, a smooth-talking pepper on a stick; Bubba J, NASCAR?s biggest fan; and Walter, a dirty old man with no internal censor. VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS SPECIAL features Dunham and the puppet brigade bantering about Santa, sleigh rides, and gift-giving. The release also includes the bonus music video "Roadkill Christmas."
Jeff Dunham - Arguing with Myself
Jeff Dunham blends the age-old craft of ventriloquism with the modern art of snark in this hilarious comedy concert. Recorded live in 2006, ARGUING WITH MYSELF features Dunham playing straight man to a team of unruly, irreverent puppets: Sweet Daddy D, a smooth-talking Pimp; Jose Jalapeño, a smooth-talking pepper on a stick; Bubba J, NASCAR?s biggest fan; and Walter, a dirty old man with a hilarious sneer. Dunham and his foam friends riff on race, politics, and relationships, proffering banter so quick-witted you forget there's only one sentient being on stage.
We first saw Jeff on the comedy channel and laughed so hard we cried. Saw the dvd at Walmart and bought it. Took it out to the lake where we stay with our niece and nephew and loaned it to them, they loved it so much, we gave it to them. Now we have t

Desperate Housewives - The Complete Fourth Season (Sizzling Secrets Edition; 5 Disc Set) [DVD]
The Emmy Award-winning ladies of Wisteria Lane have even sharper fangs in the juicy fourth season of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, a primetime soap opera that takes aim at the dark side of suburban life. The fourth installment revolves around the return of Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delaney), a one-time neighborhood resident with an abusive past that she can never fully escape. Katherine joyfully reunites with her old friend, Susan (Teri Hatcher), who is unexpectedly expecting, but immediately clashes with Bree (Marcia Cross), who is pretending to be pregnant so that she can soon raise her teenage daughter's child as her own. Meanwhile, Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) cancer creates obstacles in both her marriage and her friendships, and Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) continues to fight with Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) over Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira). Each delightfully twisty, catty storyline comes to a powerful conclusion in the season's controversial time-jumping finale, "Free." The 17 episodes included in this set feature guest appearances from John Slattery (MAD MEN) and Nathan Fillion (FIREFLY).
