The 2.4 GHz KX-TG2570B is one of the most fully featured, advanced cordless phones you'll find and it has the looks to prove it. The unit's titanium-and-black casing with rubberized trim make it look like 22nd-century military hardware (it's also available in an all-black version, the KX-TG2570B).The dual-band phone transmits in the 2.4 GHz frequency range from base to handset, and at 900 MHz from handset to base. This duplex arrangement gives you the clarity and range of high-frequency transmission while eliminating interference between the signals as they come and go between the two components. Performance is further improved by digital spread spectrum (DSS) technology, which boosts the roaming range and provides security against electronic eavesdropping. You should be able to roam well beyond the perimeter of your home (Panasonic's 2.4 GHz phones have even better roaming range than its 900MHz DSS models)This particular model is aimed at consumers who subscribe to a Call Waiting/Caller ID service combo through their phone company. If a call comes in while you're on the line, the number is displayed on the handset's three-line LCD so that you can decide whether to take the second call. The Caller ID information can be transferred to a 50-number directory for easy callbacks.The KX-TG2570 also has a built-in digital answering machine with a 15-minute recording capacity. Voice prompts and automatic time/date stamps make it simple to keep track of messages.Another desirable convenience feature is the speakerphone in the base. The digital duplex operation allows you and the person you're chatting with to speak simultaneously without cutting each other off. The speakerphone also permits intercom conversations between base and handset.This product is also available in Black.
