Moe Bandy writes, "After seventeen years on the road, living here in Branson gives me the opportunity to live a normal life." Indeed, Branson, Missouri has become one of the hot spots for C&W music, and LIVE IN BRANSON brings the spirit of this burgeoning city to life. Singing in a strong, rich baritone voice, Bandy's main theme over the album's 13 tracks is love, heartaches included. He's a pragmatist; on "It's a Cheating Situation," he sings, "we do what we have to do when there's no love at home," but he's also at home with blue collar themes, on songs such as "Another Day, Another Dollar" and "Americana," which praise the working man and the American dream. A slick and streamlined recording, LIVE IN BRANSON also features superb instrumental accompaniment. Pedal steel, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and fiddle add texture and depth to the music, infusing these well-crafted songs with the dustbowl grit of the American West.
