Wusthof's Grand Prix II knives differ slightly from the original Grand Prix line in that they feature a redesigned handle with more ergonomic curve and a squared-off end. Contemporary in look, the pebble-grain synthetic handle is molded over an extended tang for a sure, comfortable grip. Because there is less steel in the tang, a Grand Prix II cook's knife offers slightly less heft than its Classic counterpart, yet more than the trim Le Cordon Bleu. All are beautifully balanced. This all-purpose 10-piece set includes the following knives: 8-inch cook's, 8-inch hollow carving, 8-inch serrated bread, 5-inch boning, 5-inch brunch (great for bagels), 4-1/2-inch utility, and 3-1/2-inch paring. Also included are a 9-inch sharpening steel, kitchen shears, and an oak block with 17 slots, which means room for adding more.
