I looked at Ken Rockwell's tests and recommendations and purchased this and I agree with his findings - I am not a pro though but have been a photo hobbyist for 40+ years. It is very close to the Nikon as far as optical quality at about 50% of the price. It feels like quality and the performance is excellent. The only con that I could think of is that it does not have the Nikon reputation.
