If you want a moderately priced camera that is easy to use, lightweight, and performs like a big boy, then this is the one for you. I can carry it in my purse and always have it available to catch that "Once-in-a-lifetime" photo. I'm no Ansel Adams, so the point and shoot feature that results in good pictures is the best.
My previous camera was also canon and I found the sd 870 also very good. The wide angle lens, and the LCD screen was just excellent... Only thing i found little bad about the camera is that its video is not good and noisy...
The SD870 IS is an excellent general-use camera, producing high-quality images with a minimum of user intervention. Scene modes work well for their intended setting/subject(s). The wide-angle feature is great for taking groups shots in smaller indoor environments.
