I'm not sure if I have a bum appliance, or if this is just a really lousy dishwasher. Either way, I'm not happy. The water does not get hot - Whirlpool's response 1. It's the EPA's fault, dishwashers can only heat water for 20 minutes now. 2. Turn your hot water heater up to scald (140+), then teach your toddlers to be careful. 3. Insulate your pipes (we did that, it didn't help). We tried raising the hot water tank temp, and it didn't help either. The soap dispenser does not open reliably, when it does, the detergent doesn't dissolve. The dishes just don't get clean. I've called Whirlpool 3 times. They've sent someone out who gave me a diseration on training my toddlers to use really hot water and about using powdered detergent only. Whirlpool says you cannot use the pre-measured pressurized packs - no surprise they blame Electrosol and Cascade for "over pressurizing." I tried liquid and powder - still doesn't dissolve and the soap dispenser doesn't open reliably, so my dishes don't get... (See all reviews)

I have owned 5 dishwashers in my life and this is by far the worst! Bottom line, it does not clean the dishes. We have tried all of the cycles, different types of detergent and everything else we can think of. This is the first product review I have ever written, which should indicate how bad it is. Please do not by model. I would not risk buying another Whirlpool either. (See all reviews)
