Steve Martin returns as the proud patriarch of the Baker family in this sequel to the original CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, based on a book by Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth. This time, all twelve Baker kids and their parents, Tom (Martin) and Kate (Bonnie Hunt), are going on vacation, returning to their summer cabin in Wisconsin for one last hurrah before the kids grow up and go their separate ways. Lorraine (Hilary Duff) is on her way to New York to begin an internship with VOGUE, Nora (Piper Perabo) is hugely pregnant, and the Bakers want to spend some quality time all together for a change. As the family arrives at their old house, however, they realize that some things have changed--and some things never do. Tom's old high school rival, Jimmy Murtaugh (Eugene Levy) is now the big man about town, owning much of the surrounding area, and raising his large family in a huge home across the lake from the Bakers'. The longstanding competition between the two families--or at least that of the fathers--mounts over the course of their vacation, as the two men resort to ever nastier tactics of one-upsmanship. Meanwhile, Charlie Baker (Tom Welling) becomes closer with Anne Murtaugh (Jamie King), and Sarah (Alyson Stoner) embarks on her first romance with Eliot Murtaugh (Taylor Lautner). It all comes to a head when the two families face off in a canoeing race, during which they are faced with a decision between loyalty to family and friends, and the competitive edge.

Jason Friedberg and Adam Seltzer--the two guys who did EPIC MOVIE, DATE MOVIE, SCARY MOVIE, and MEET THE SPARTANS--bring you DISASTER MOVIE, a compendium of gross-out gags and reference-check quasi-satire bits aping THE INCREDIBLE HULK, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, JUMPER, ENCHANTED, DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, SEX AND THE CITY, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, and so on. The story is structured via CLOVERFIELD with Will (Matt Lanter), after having a 10,000 B.C.-style dream involving an Amy Winehouse look-a-like (Nicole Parker), races against time to rescue his girlfriend (Vanessa Minnillo) who is trapped in a museum with references to TWISTER; meanwhile kids who look like the teens from SUPERBAD try and score booze. What? Along for the ride are a JUNO-esque slacker girl (Crista Flanagan) and Gary "G-Thang" Johnson; there are take-offs of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS, and celebrity impersonations of Dr. Phil, Michael Jackson, the real Kim Kardashian, and the ubiquitous Carmen Electra; lots of dances and fights and dance/fights (à la STEP UP and STEP UP 2 THE STREETS). The comedy talent here is mostly imported from MAD TV, particularly Parker, who also does ENCHANTED and a mean Jessica Simpson. The recipe here, as before, is to cram in as many pop-culture references as possible, douse liberally with gross bodily fluids, and serve face forward. In other words, it's the perfect film for loud shouts and inappropriate laughter with a roomful of one's most off-color cohorts.

While some may raise an eyebrow when they discover that Jenny McCarthy wrote the script for DIRTY LOVE, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise: McCarthy has already established herself as a writer, has never been afraid to laugh at herself, and has further screenplays in the works. The curvacious former model proved her comedic chops as host of MTV's SINGLED OUT, and serves up further laughs in this addition to the gross-out comedy genre, which was directed by her husband, John Mallory Asher (although McCarthy filed for divorce from Asher shortly before DIRTY LOVE's theatrical debut). Rebecca (McCarthy) is a fashion photographer who is shocked when she discovers her boyfriend, Richard (Victor Webster), in bed with another woman. After the initial hurt, Rebecca decides she wants Richard back, and embarks on a quest to sleep with as many men as possible, thinking her former lover will be so jealous that he'll beg her to return. Rebecca's friend Michelle (Carmen Electra) eggs her on, and a series of farcical set-pieces is engineered to highlight Rebecca's increasingly desperate attempts to get laid. In a film full of bawdy humor and harsh language, McCarthy camps it up as her character wallows in her own menstrual blood, throws up over her own ample cleavage, and does whatever it takes to win her man back. DIRTY LOVE is a piece of lowbrow filmmaking that is unashamedly trashy, and owes a sizeable debt to the ribald comedy of Benny Hill and the Pope of Trash himself, John Waters.

Writers/producers/directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (DATE MOVIE, EPIC MOVIE) use the film 300 as the basis for their latest spoof. Born to be the perfect Spartan, Leonidas (Sean Magiure) faces numerous trials en route to becoming a man, including a face-off with the penguin from HAPPY FEET. Once he has proven himself, Leonidas not only becomes king, but also marries superhot (and slightly slutty) Margot (Carmen Electra). When Leonidas learns that Persia's King Xerxes (Ken Davitian, BORAT) plans to make Sparta his own, he has his captain (Kevin Sorbo, HERCULES) recruit Sparta's finest and prepare them for battle against invading Persian forces. Unfortunately, that amounts to only 13 half-naked men with painted-on abs who literally prance to their destination. To make matters worse, Spartan councilman Traitoro (Diedrich Bader) is, well, a traitor. Still, Leonidas and his men face their enemy in battle, riffing on STOMP THE YARD, GHOST RIDER, TRANSFORMERS, and numerous other films along the way, as well as the video game GRAND THEFT AUTO. Freidberg and Seltzer poke fun at virtually every recent cultural phenomenon and pop culture personality, including Britney Spears, Kevin Federline, Paris Hilton, DANCING WITH THE STARS, AMERICAN IDOL, and DEAL OR NO DEAL. Even UGLY BETTY makes an appearance. Be prepared for an abundance of gross-out humor, spurts of bodily fluids, some sexual innuendo, and multiple jokes about homosexuality. Stick around after the musical finale as the credits start to roll: the deleted scenes prove to be some of the most amusing in the film.

The six high school students who ran over a man on a sharp curve the year before think the killer is out for revenge, but sweet and innocent Cindy Campbell believes that the madman might just lurk a lot closer to home. Cowritten by Shawn and Marlon Wayans (and four others), the script leaves no cliché unturned; in addition to the horror parodies, the film also spoofs such teen sex comedies as AMERICAN PIE and such hit films as THE SIXTH SENSE, THE MATRIX, and FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. The film never lets up in its striking re-creations of classic scenes, and it never passes up the chance for a joke, no matter how crude. The young, attractive cast looks like it just jumped out of DAWSON'S CREEK, playing everything up to the hilt--and beyond.

Ben Foster (FREAKS AND GEEKS) stars as Berke, a fairly nondescript basketball player whose romance with the beautiful Allison (Melissa Sagemiller) has made him the happiest man in school as well as the envy of his classmates. Unfortunately, Allison doesn't feel the same way and dumps him in the opening minutes of the film. Determined to win her back, Berke auditions for the high school play, "A Midsummer Night's Rockin' Dream," in which Allison has snagged the lead role. Thwarting his hopes of reconciliation is the guy that Allison just started dating, Striker, a transfer student who heads a semi-famous boy band and sports a laughable European accent. Enlisting the help of his best friend's sister, Kelly (Kirsten Dunst), Berke tries to rehearse for the play and finds his emotions caught between his past with Allison and his burgeoning feelings for Kelly. Sweet and funny (especially during Martin Short's appearances as the play's name-dropping director), GET OVER IT is an excellent teen film bolstered by an exceptional cast.

Guest stars are also in plentiful supply, with a lineup that includes Kid Rock, Carmen Electra, Merv Griffin, Kevin Nealon, Mark Curry, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, and many more.

The loose plot involves a gang of teen orphans (including Jayma Mays and Faune A. Chambers) whose trip inside Wonka's candy factory leads them to a Narnia-style wardrobe adventure. Jennifer Coolidge is the evil White Bitch they have to tangle with in this new land, and Fred Willard plays Aslo, the lion. Scene-stealing Crispin Glover plays the Wonka-be, David Carradine breakdances, and the vivacious Carmen Elektra morphs enticingly in X-MEN-style blue body paint. A bevy of eerie look-alikes pose as Paris Hilton, Anna Paquin, Samuel Jackson, and P Diddy, among others. Of course there's raunch a-plenty with humor both scatological and shot-to-the-crotch-ish, to keep the MTV generation of all ages amused. The jokes come so fast that no one need worry if a gag here falls flat: another one is right behind to jump on its back. Best of all, the directors keep a tight ship on the bad language, as befits the PG-13 rating.

The loose plot involves a gang of teen orphans (including Jayma Mays and Faune A. Chambers) whose trip inside Wonka's candy factory leads them to a Narnia-style wardrobe adventure. Jennifer Coolidge is the evil White Bitch they have to tangle with in this new land, and Fred Willard plays Aslo, the lion. Scene-stealing Crispin Glover plays the Wonka-be, David Carradine breakdances, and the vivacious Carmen Elektra morphs enticingly in X-MEN-style blue body paint. A bevy of eerie look-alikes pose as Paris Hilton, Anna Paquin, Samuel Jackson, and P Diddy, among others. Of course there's raunch a-plenty with humor both scatological and shot-to-the-crotch-ish, to keep the MTV generation of all ages amused. The jokes come so fast that no one need worry if a gag here falls flat: another one is right behind to jump on its back. Best of all, the directors keep a tight ship on the bad language, as befits the PG-13 rating.

No spoof is left unturned in director and parody-meister David Zucker's SCARY MOVIE 4, the latest installment in the popular horror-cum-humor series. Among several returnees from previous films, Anna Faris reprises her role as Cindy Campbell, the eternally unlucky and hilariously clumsy heroine. In a send-up of 2004's THE GRUDGE, Campbell is assigned as full-time nurse to a mysterious old lady in a house haunted by the ghost of a small boy. In a takeoff of 2005's WAR OF THE WORLDS, next door lives Tom Ryan (Craig Bierko), a divorced dock worker somewhat in charge of his two kids, who is called into action as Alien TriPods (remove the "Tr" for a hint at the inspiration for their invention) seek to destroy Earth. The two meet and quickly fall in love. Joined by Cindy's ever-present sidekick, the flirtatious Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), the protagonists must save the planet from aliens and solve the mystery of the ghostly boy. One of the stops along the way includes a sharp lampooning of THE VILLAGE, complete with appearances from SCARY MOVIE veterans Carmen Electra and Chris Elliot, and other cinematic spoofs, including BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, MILLION DOLLAR BABY, and SAW. The satirical wit extends beyond the movies, containing personal jabs both self-inflicted (Charlie Sheen, Shaquille O'Neal, and Dr. Phil) and not (Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson, and George W. Bush). Ultimately, there is more than enough funniness to sate the SCARY MOVIE or slapstick comedy fan's appetite.
