Each week a new guest star, among the most distinguished entertainers of the time, would appear to participate in some of the skits and assist Kermit in making order out of the backstage chaos. Although the humor of THE MUPPET SHOW was often more adult and occasionally risqué than the later Muppet endeavors, it was still appropriate for every member of the family. SEASON ONE contains all 24 episodes of the program's first year (the 1976-77 television season), and features guest stars who are still well-known today, such as Lena Horne, Peter Ustinov, Candice Bergen, Vincent Price, and many others.
