The children's cable network Nickelodeon fashions an American spin on Japanese anime with their original series AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER. On a futuristic Earth torn between the warring elements of Air, Earth, Water, and Fire, only one special being known as the Avatar can bring peace to the conflicted planet. The trouble is, the Avatar is an immature 12-year-old boy called Aang, who would rather wander the world having fun-filled adventures than settle down and face his heroic destiny. AVATAR ably blends kids-oriented comedy with martial-arts action-adventure worthy of its Japanese counterparts. This collection presents the series' second season in its entirety.

A passion for drawing, a penchant for the films of Jacques Cousteau, and a career as a marine biologist were SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS creator Stephen Hillenburg's inspirations for bringing this fun character to life. A hugely popular Nickelodeon show based on SpongeBob inspires THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE, which brings the oceanic cast of animated oddballs to the big screen. The bubbly inhabitants of Bikini Bottom are in more trouble than a sinking ship at the start of the film. The evil Plankton (Doug Lawrence) has hatched a plan to send the Krusty Krab burger chain out of business. He steals the secret formula for the delicious Krabby Patty and then frames Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown) for the theft of King Neptune's (Jeffrey Tambor) crown. With all eyes on Mr. Krabs, Plankton starts selling Krabby Patties at his own Chum Bucket restaurant. Just then, SpongeBob (Tom Kenny) steps in and, with his starfish pal Patrick (Rick Faggerbakke), sets out to find the crown and get Mr. Krabs out of hot water. What follows is an epic adventure in which the pair encounter some slippery villains, and a hero in the form of special guest star David Hasselhoff--who appears as himself in a bizarre fusion of animation and live action. SpongeBob and Patrick frantically race back to Bikini Bottom to stop megalomaniacal Plankton from taking over the world. All of this is played out before an eclectic soundtrack, which pairs indie rockers like The Flaming Lips and Wilco with teen-pop princess Avril Lavigne. Taking its first triumphant step into the feature film world, SPONGEBOB soaks up an enthusiastic crowd of children and adults alike.

Created by former marine biologist Stephen Hillenburg, Nickelodeon's hugely popular cartoon series SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS chronicles the wacky adventures of an overly enthusiastic sea sponge and his oceanic pals in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom. Living in a pineapple home with his meowing, catlike pet snail, Gary, the fry-cook sponge (inimitably voiced by Tom Kenny) happily flips Krabby Patties at a fast-food restaurant owned by the moneygrubbing Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown)--that is, when he's not engaging in nautical nonsense with his dimwitted starfish friend, Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke); annoying his tentacled and perennially grouchy neighbor and coworker, Squidward (Rodger Bumpass); visiting the displaced Texan squirrel, Sandy Cheeks (Carolyn Lawrence); or fending off the megalomanic plans of the evil protozoan, Plankton (Doug Lawrence). Employing a vibrantly colorful animation style that bears the distinct influence of REN & STIMPY, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS has become a veritable pop-culture phenomenon that appeals to children and adults alike with its wholesome, yet slyly subversive, brand of goofy humor (as well as an impossibly catchy theme song). This collection introduces the adventures of the absorbent, yellow, and porous one with the perfectly silly first 100 episodes of the series.

In 1991, the cable television network Nickelodeon changed the face of children's programming with the hugely popular animated series RUGRATS. Created by new parents Gabor Csupo and Arlene Klasky as a warm and funny evocation of childhood, the long-running cartoon followed the colorful adventures of a group of diaper-clad toddlers--plucky Tommy Pickles, his worrywart best friend Chuckie Finster, intrepid twins Phil and Lil, and later characters Dil and Kimi--as they explored the world around them and dodged the troublemaking efforts of Tommy's supremely bratty older sister, Angelica. Though the cartoon ended after an amazing 13-year run, the RUGRATS return with the made-for-video series TALES FROM THE CRIB, which offers full-length movie interpretations of classic fairytales. This volume presents an imaginative retelling of Snow White, with Angelica as the evil queen and the Rugrats gang as the helpful dwarves.
