Created by Darren Star, the glitzy series chronicled the coming-of-age dramas of Minnesota siblings Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty) as they adjusted to their new lives in the affluent environs of the zip code of the title, where they attended the fictional West Beverly High with a tight-knit group of teenage friends: goodnatured jock Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering); naive virgin Donna Martin (Tori Spelling); aspiring DJ David Silver (Brian Austin Green); blonde siren Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth); and troubled bad-boy Dylan McKay (Luke Perry). Like DEGRASSI, the series attempted social commentary by crafting storylines featuring a wide range of issues affecting '90s teens, including alcoholism, drug abuse, sex, and depression. This sixth season continues the social drama and love affairs as the privileged pals brave the pressures of the adult world--including cocaine, pregnancy, and, for Dylan, a hitman.

Despite the absence of haunted tiki idols, the kids find plenty of ways to wreck comic havoc in this feature-length episode of the long-running teenage television series. SAVED BY THE BELL: WEDDING IN VEGAS: In the concluding episode of the popular, long-running series, Zach (Gosselaar) and Kelly (Thiessen) finally decide to tie the knot. However, Zach's parents disapprove, and Kelly's family can't afford a wedding, so they decide to elope to Las Vegas, with the entire gang from Bayside in tow. Of course, in classic SAVED BY THE BELL style, even the walk down the aisle is full of zany detours. The guys land in jail, the girls get stranded in the middle of nowhere, Kelly suspects Zach is being unfaithful, Zach loses all the money for the wedding, and Slater is being chased by jewel thieves.

By the time an angry mob of jealous husbands--led by the Greco-Roman wrestling Lance DeLune (Will Ferrell)--catches up with him, he has decided once and for all who he really wants. Meadows's obvious affection for his character shines through in THE LADIES MAN, providing the film with a surprising amount of sweetness. In addition to many SNL regulars, Julianne Moore appears briefly as a horny clown with an insatiable appetite for The Ladies Man.

In HOLLYWOOD ENDING, Woody Allen stars as Val Waxman, a onetime hot director who now gets fired from deodorant commercials in the frozen north. He is desperate for a comeback, but when he is at last offered a deal--for a $60 million blockbuster--it's from his ex-wife producer, Ellie (Tea Leoni), and her lover, Hal (Treat Williams), the studio head who had stolen Ellie away from Val ten years earlier. At his agent's (Mark Rydell as Al Hack) urging, Val takes the job, but Val is struck with psychosomatic blindness on the eve of production. Yet he is still determined to direct the picture. HOLLYWOOD ENDING is a return to form for Allen. He is excellent as the fading auteur struggling to find his vision. His dependence on Al and Ellie is both pathetic and hysterical. Leoni and Rydell are outstanding, as is the rest of the eclectic cast, which includes Isaac Mizrahi as a production designer, Debra Messing as Val's chippie girlfriend, George Hamilton as a vain Hollywood tagalong, and Tiffani Thiessen as a sexpot actress. The film is filled with wonderful New York City locations, including Central Park, the Plaza hotel, Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle, Balthazar, and more. HOLLYWOOD ENDING is a funny, poignant look at a filmmaker fighting public and professional scrutiny to craft his art, not unlike what Allen himself has gone through in his career, especially in the 1990s.

At first, Johnny has trouble trusting his debauched new friends; however, as time passes, he and Eric build a relationship and become very close. Eric helps initiate Johnny into the world of heterosexual street hustling, and Veronica helps teach Johnny how to give a woman pleasure. But problems arise as Eric's feelings for Johnny develop into something Johnny can't reciprocate: love and sexual desire. The film was executive produced by Gus Van Sant, director of DRUGSTORE COWBOY and MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO, and Nikolas Perry definitely admires those films, aspiring to create here a similarly evocative sense of life on the dark, seamy side of youth.
