In any suspenseful action/thriller, things are not what they seem. KHAKEE's seemingly straightforward plot tracks a crack team of police commanded by DCP Anant Shrivastav (Amitabh Bachchan)--assisted by knowledgeable witness Mahalakshmi (Aishwary Rai)--as they attempt to transport Ansari (Atul Kulkarni), a dangerous terrorist, from Chandigarh to Mumbai. Yeshwant Angre (Ajay Devgan), a former police officer and ruthless killer, is set on derailing the operation. He has an agenda of his own, known only to Ansari.
