GARFIELD AS HIMSELF This purrific release presents three specials starring one of animation's most famous cats: Garfield! In "Here Comes Garfield," it's up to Garfield to rescue Odie from the pound. In "Garfield on the Town," the pudgy feline has a wild adventure out in the streets, which leads to a run-in with his mother. And "Garfield Gets a Life" finds Garfield, Odie, and Jon discovering the flashy world of dating. GARFIELD AS HIMSELF is entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. GARFIELD TRAVEL ADVENTURES Garfield takes three trips in this collection of adventures, with typically chaotic results. In "Garfield in the Rough," the poor feline is dragged on vacation with his owner, Jon, and his nincompoop fellow pet, Odie. Unfortunately, this will be no relaxing getaway, but rather a camping trip in the woods. There, the forest rangers insult him, Odie pushes him into the lake, his tent is ill-fitted, and a panther is after him. "Garfield In Paradise" finds the gang--well, in paradise, this time joined by the High Rama Lama of rock and roll--voiced by Wolfman Jack--as well as a princess and her princess cat. There's trouble in paradise too, however, when a volcano starts to rumble! Then, Garfield and company are headed to Hollywood to try their luck for some big bucks. They have plans to go on "Pet Search," a TV talent show. Their act has them performing as Johnny Bop and the Two Steps, and they stand to win $1000 and a shot at the national finals! GARFIELD FANTASIES The notoriously lazy orange cat turns out to have quite an active imagination, and collected here are three specials connected thematically in their focus on Garfield's fantasies. First, in "Babes and Bullets," a bored Garfield discovers a trench coat in a closet and becomes Sam Spayed, Private Eye. Tanya O'Tabby is the recent widow of a 23-year-old college professor, and she comes to him for help in solving the mystery of her husband's murder. Then, in "Garfield's Feline Fantasies," Garfield and his intrepid sidekick Odie travel the world, battling spies, counter-spies, and villains, to find the stolen Banana of Bombay. The sacred fruit is the symbol of all that is funny, and without it laughter as we know it will end. This special was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program. Finally, in "Garfield: His Nine Lives," Garfield traces his various incarnations, from "cave cat" to "space cat." In the time between, he invents jazz, works in silent films, and participates in a lab experiment that goes awry.
