Perhaps the biggest reason to consider the 265WT is the included lifetime traffic reporting system. While supported by occasional advertisements, the ads are fairly infrequent and unobtrusive.You will also find a widescreen display, Text-to-Speech, and Bluetooth technology for hands-free calling. About the only advanced feature not included is multi-destination routing-- but if you can live without that, this is a great GPS and a fantastic value when considering the lifetime traffic subscription.

How often do you find yourself wondering which lane you should be in? Lane Assistance is one of the new features found on the Nuvi 765T which will provide the answer to that question on some major intersections-- just dont expect it everywhere. Another new feature is 3D representations of some buildings in the largest cities. Something fun to have, but typically not a huge asset to navigation.Still, the Nuvi 765T packs many upper-end navigation features such as route optimization, Text-to-Speech for street names, life traffic reporting, and Bluetooth hands free calling. Some people however might find the slightly older Nuvi 760 a better bargain.

Looking good on paper, the Garmin Nuvi 755T is an almost fully loaded GPS with a widescreen, multi-destination routing, FM Transmitter, an included traffic receiver and lifetime traffic subscription, and can even optimize the order of a long list of stops. You dont get Bluetooth like that found on the Nuvi 765T, but most people can live without that feature.However under the hood the 755T feels a bit underpowered and often doesnt give you quite enough warning of turns ahead. The older Nuvi 750 or the similarly equipped Nuvi 265WT might be a better option.

If you have a complex route to follow or multiple stops to make simply enter the locations into the 750 and it will optimize the order of the stops creating the most efficient route.While the 750 is compatible with live traffic reporting it does not come with a traffic receiver like many of the other 700 series Nuvi devices do. However if you decide later you want that function, the option is available.

Sometimes simple is better, and for that there is the Garmin Nuvi 255. Text-to-Speech used to be reserved for more full featured GPS devices, but now we start to see it on entry level devices like the 255. While it does not have a widescreen, the smaller size makes it easier to slip into a pocket or purse.Despite the small package and price, the Nuvi 255 can be connected to live traffic systems with an optional traffic receiver. If you only need maps of the USA, consider the Nuvi 205 instead which has the same features but doesnt include map coverage of Canada when sold in the USA.

Garmins first device with speech recognition technology, the Nuvi 850 will listen to your commands and then guide you appropriately. Unlike competitive devices which simply allow address input, most of the menu system in the Nuvi 800 series will accept voice commands.While you cant describe this GPS as inexpensive, it does offer top of the line features for someone who spends quality time in their car every day. Other top-end features like route optimization and an FM transmitter are included, but Bluetooth and a traffic receiver are not included. Check out the Garmin Nuvi 860 for those features.
