One of the least expensive GPS devices with text-to-speech (it can speak street names in addition to typical voice prompts) the Nuvi 260 is essentially a replacement for the highly acclaimed Nuvi 350. With a slimmer profile and an integrated antenna, the 260 is highly portable yet still comes with a good set of features.Other improvements over more basic models include maps of the USA and Canada pre-installed. Despite the compact size the speaker is loud, although the voice quality suffers a little bit at the highest volume levels. But that shouldnt impact most people from checking out one of the most popular models around.

Confused about all of the options when it comes to GPS? Just want a GPS that gets you from point A to B with no fuss? The Garmin Nuvi 200 might be your next best friend. No MP3 player, no live traffic reporting, no multi-segment routing, no text-to-speech (but it does have voice prompts), no widescreen. But that is part of the appeal of this ultra simple to operate GPS.The Nuvi 200 does one thing, and does it very well-- gets you to your destination with little fuss or distraction. But dont let the simplicity fool you. This basic Nuvi includes several million Points of Interest, has a longer battery life than competitive models, and Garmins interface is known for ease of use. It doesnt have maps of Alaska nor Canada so if your travels will take you north consider the otherwise identical Garmin Nuvi 250 instead. And if youre looking for a few more features, check out the TomTom 130. But if your looking for a quality GPS without the fluff, find your way to the Nuvi 200.

If youre looking for a GPS to get you around North America, but also give you a hand on your next trip to Europe, the Nuvi 270 is probably one of the better picks. While you can add European maps to many other GPS models, it is often less expensive to purchase them pre-installed on a device like the 270.A few other features make the 270 a great travel companion. A pedestrian mode allows you to create routes on roads you couldnt make in a car... like walking the wrong way on a one way street. Also a hold switch on the top of the GPS will prevent accidental touch screen input while the GPS is running in your pocket or purse. The Nuvi 270 is the best value out there for GPS devices with factory loaded North America and European maps.

So you checked out all of the wiz-bang features available on GPS devices and the only one that really piques your interest is to have a nice, brilliant, widescreen display. No need for maps of Canada, Bluetooth, text-to-speech, or traffic services-- youre just looking for a basic GPS that performs well and has a widescreen. The Nuvi 200w is quite likely your GPS.Others to consider might be the TomTom XL 330 which offers multi-destination routing and has an innovative mounting system. But the display isnt quite as bright as the Nuvi 200w.

Here's an invaluable tool for all you boating and fishing enthusiasts out there — Garmin's GPSMAP 276C chartplotter and automotive navigation system. It'll guide you on your drive to the bay, show you your way out on the water, and get you back home again with ease! The GPSMAP 276C comes loaded with an Americas Autoroute basemap that covers major interstates and highways (including points of interest such as restaurants and gas stations near interstate exits), most major cities, many smaller towns, oceans, rivers, lakes, major streams, coastline cartography, and tide stations in the U.S., plus lake coverage in Canada. That's a lot of information right at your fingertips! The 256-color LCD offers a vivid picture that's easy to read, even if you're in bright sunlight. Or if you're doing a little night fishing, you can select night viewing mode for optimal visibility. The Course Deviation Indicator lets you know if you've drifted off course, while anchor drag, arrival, off-course, and proximity waypoint alarms keep you aware of everything that's going on. A marine mount is included for easy integration in your boat. The GPSMAP also features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack that offers up to five hours of operation. An included AC adapter lets you charge it up before you set sail. You can access incredibly detailed regional marine info (inland and off shore) with optional BlueChart® and Recreational Lakes data cards and CD-ROMs. And if you want added on-land navigation capability, you can also pick up the optional vehicle kit, which includes more detailed maps, a car mount, a DC adapter, and more.
