So you checked out all of the wiz-bang features available on GPS devices and the only one that really piques your interest is to have a nice, brilliant, widescreen display. No need for maps of Canada, Bluetooth, text-to-speech, or traffic services-- youre just looking for a basic GPS that performs well and has a widescreen. The Nuvi 200w is quite likely your GPS.Others to consider might be the TomTom XL 330 which offers multi-destination routing and has an innovative mounting system. But the display isnt quite as bright as the Nuvi 200w.

This is an excellent GPS unit for the price. It has all the maps and features necessary to navigate throughout the United States and Canada.

it works for me as long as I bear in mind it is not always 100% and that I should be aware of my track myself and be certain to read the street names off the screen to avoid confusion....should have read more detail about this model as it gives turn by turn and not by street name voice directions...still overall for the price, very happy with nuvi 200w

Compared to the Tom Tom 3rd Edition the Garmin is below average. It's mapping is below par with the Tom Tom. The visability of screen is very good. Other than that nothing better.

Confused about all of the options when it comes to GPS? Just want a GPS that gets you from point A to B with no fuss? The Garmin Nuvi 200 might be your next best friend. No MP3 player, no live traffic reporting, no multi-segment routing, no text-to-speech (but it does have voice prompts), no widescreen. But that is part of the appeal of this ultra simple to operate GPS.The Nuvi 200 does one thing, and does it very well-- gets you to your destination with little fuss or distraction. But dont let the simplicity fool you. This basic Nuvi includes several million Points of Interest, has a longer battery life than competitive models, and Garmins interface is known for ease of use. It doesnt have maps of Alaska nor Canada so if your travels will take you north consider the otherwise identical Garmin Nuvi 250 instead. And if youre looking for a few more features, check out the TomTom 130. But if your looking for a quality GPS without the fluff, find your way to the Nuvi 200.
