One of the first GPS devices to include text-to-speech (will say street names, not just turn right), the StreetPilot c340 was a great device. It still offers a good value, but is beginning to show its age. No longer in production, the c340 is much bulkier than more recent models with similar functionality, and the weaker GPS chipset will make the device take longer to get a signal.In its day, the Garmin c340 was a leader in the pack, but if you are going to spend three figures on a GPS device today-- you might as well get something a little more recent such as the Nuvi 260 which offers similar mapping ...

It is quick to recalculate routes, and I've had little to no trouble obtaining satellites (except when using indoors). The model is older so the POIs are outdated but these can be updated on the Garmin website...
