One of the first GPS devices to include text-to-speech (will say street names, not just turn right), the StreetPilot c340 was a great device. It still offers a good value, but is beginning to show its age. No longer in production, the c340 is much bulkier than more recent models with similar functionality, and the weaker GPS chipset will make the device take longer to get a signal. In its day, the Garmin c340 was a leader in the pack, but if you are going to spend three figures on a GPS device today-- you might as well get something a little more recent such as the Nuvi 260 which offers similar mapping ...

Garmin Street Pilot C340 by Deking Sep. 20, 2008

It is very accurate at finding directions. Have used it in multiple states and was able to find where I needed to go. I bought refurbished because there is a savings and it comes with the same warranty as a new one. I would recomend this to my friends. I like the feature that keeps track of moving time, stopped time, average speed, max speed, distance traveled, and direction of travel. Like t...

Ditch that paper map and go GPS!!! by cdeuser Sep. 12, 2008

This is easy to use out of the box. I received it a couple of days before my vacation to PA and I read the instructions but didn't have any time to mess with it before the trip. It got us everywhere we needed to go with a few exceptions. Over the course of the trip I learned a few tricks with it and I'm sure next time that I use it, it will be even better. I won't travel without my Garmin agai...

Despite being superseded by the Nuvi 785, the 780 is still a top performing GPS that can now be found at bargain prices. When compared with the legendary Nuvi 760, the only difference is that the 780 includes MSN Direct services for live traffic reporting and data services like weather. But here is a tip, you can sometimes find the Nuvi 760 and the GDB 50 traffic receiver as separate purchases for less than the cost of the 780. The Nuvi 760 plus the GDB 50 receiver will be identical to the 780.

Hop in the car and let this Garmin StreetPilot lead the way! This in-car navigation system offers continuous route tracking and voice-prompted directions to lead every driver down the right path. The StreetPilot, part of the GPS "c-series" promises simple navigation through touch screen commands. This dynamic auto global positioning system calculates automatic routes to every destination and helps drivers through every twist and turn. Not only functional but also versatile, this Garmin GPS offers drivers two choices for navigation: a 3D navigation or a bird's eye view from above. Convenient and necessary for drivers, this GPS includes MapSource City Select street data, giving detailed descriptions of destinations. Not to be outdone by other navigation systems, this Garmin device gives users the opportunity to view almost six million points of interest, including restaurants, ATMs, gas stations, hotels, and many other attractions. Arrive on time every time with the Garmin StreetPilot Auto GPS.

Sometimes simple is better, and for that there is the Garmin Nuvi 205. The Nuvi 205 does include voice prompts, but does not include the coveted Text-to-Speech feature to speak street names. While it does not have a widescreen, the smaller size makes it easier to slip into a pocket or purse.Despite the small package and price, the Nuvi 205 can be connected to live traffic systems with an optional traffic receiver. If you need maps of Canada, consider the Nuvi 255 instead as the 205 sold in the USA contains only maps of the contiguous United States.
