Looking good on paper, the Garmin Nuvi 755T is an almost fully loaded GPS with a widescreen, multi-destination routing, FM Transmitter, an included traffic receiver and lifetime traffic subscription, and can even optimize the order of a long list of stops. You dont get Bluetooth like that found on the Nuvi 765T, but most people can live without that feature.However under the hood the 755T feels a bit underpowered and often doesnt give you quite enough warning of turns ahead. The older Nuvi 750 or the similarly equipped Nuvi 265WT might be a better option.

The XL series is also compatible with optional traffic services which feed live traffic updates to the GPS.One of the few drawbacks to this model is that the processor speed isnt quite as good as other models. Routing and rerouting if you miss a turn are still fast, but some address searches, POI searches, and menu functions seem a little more sluggish than other models. This shouldnt delay you more than a few seconds however and the TomTom ONE XL-S offers one of the best values for GPS devices featuring a widescreen display.

It still offers a good value, but is beginning to show its age. No longer in production, the c340 is much bulkier than more recent models with similar functionality, and the weaker GPS chipset will make the device take longer to get a signal.In its day, the Garmin c340 was a leader in the pack, but if you are going to spend three figures on a GPS device today-- you might as well get something a little more recent such as the Nuvi 260 which offers similar mapping and text-to-speech, but with a more powerful GPS chip and a much slimmer size.

This model also comes with an older flip up style antenna which is slightly less convenient. It still remains a very popular model however, and if you are not concerned with updated roads, the Nuvi 360 could be a great bargain.This Nuvi will speak street names in addition to standard voice prompts (text-to-speech). The mount is still one of the best designs in the industry where the power cord plugs into the mount which makes connecting and disconnecting the GPS to the mount easier. Bluetooth hands free calling also became available on this early Nuvi.
