If you just need a GPS to get you from place to place with little fuss, The TomTom 125 should be on your short-list. There are two outstanding pieces to the TomTom 125, a loud speaker and the EasyPort (tm) mount. The innovative mount makes it easy to carry both the GPS and the mount in a convenient package-- something most other GPS packages cant say.While the TomTom 125 does come with a car charger to keep the GPS working while in a vehicle, the battery life is poor if you need to use the device away from power for any length of time. But in the car that wont be an issue and this easy to use GPS is a pleasure to use.

For example this TomTom supports multi-destination routing so you can create one single route with multiple stops in the trip. The XL series is also compatible with optional traffic services which feed live traffic updates to the GPS.One of the few drawbacks to this model is that the processor speed isnt quite as good as other models. Routing and rerouting if you miss a turn are still fast, but some address searches, POI searches, and menu functions seem a little more sluggish than other models. This shouldnt delay you more than a few seconds however and the TomTom ONE XL-S offers one of the best values for GPS devices featuring a widescreen display.

Powerful performance in a simple package. Perhaps the primary reason to pick the ONE 130s is the EasyPort mount. Currently unique to TomTom, this mount style makes it easy to take the GPS with you when you leave the car-- mount included, and slip it into your pocket or purse. No other GPS + mount combination will fold into such as small size... no more excuses to leave the GPS in the car.But dont let these conveniences fool you into thinking this GPS is a slouch. While it doesnt have as good of battery life as other devices in this class, the TomTom ONE 130s will speak street names in addition to directions, can be connected to an optional traffic receiver, and allows users to make and share map corrections with other TomTom users. If the innovative mount doesnt appeal to you, consider the Garmin Nuvi 260. Or if your eyes would be happier with a widescreen, look at the TomTom XL 330s. Otherwise, the 130s will be a solid companion for your next trip.

An optional accessory is available to add live traffic information.The small size and small cost might make you think about carrying this GPS along while walking in a city-- but be careful as the battery life isnt quite as good as other models in this class and there is no hold switch to prevent accidental touch screen input, both features found on the similar Garmin Nuvi 200. Still, with MapShare, a Help Me! menu, and maps of the USA Canada, the ONE 3rd Edition is a great pick for a first auto GPS.
