Western Digital's Caviar GP WD10EACS promises to reduce power consumption; but loses little on performance.
When did a terabyte of storage become passé? Probably when this became the second terabyte drive we reviewed. That does give us an advantage, as we have a drive to compare to this one - the Hitachi Deskstar 1TB.
The 500 GB of WesternDigital's Caviar RE2 WD5000YS that we tested isn't the fastest drive we've ever had in our labs, but it remains a fairly solid hard drive
