The Compaq Microcom 705 Corporate Communicator gives the user phone, fax, and remote/Internet access via a personal computer and existing corporate (digital) phone lines. Compaq provides this Desktop Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) through a plug-and-play ISA card with a Universal PBX I/F, a digital 56K modem, and multi-functional CTI software. From a PC, a user can make and accept phone calls with caller ID recognition, send and receive faxes, and place calls. This is an advantage for executives and salespeople, workers in call centers and service departments, anyone who makes a high volume of telephone calls, and anyone who wants to view notes about that caller when talking with him or her.
