I have used this product,(10NOO16}Lexmark Black Ink for years,6years. I have bought 3 Lexmark Printers within 6 years, different models.I love to make photo's for my scrapebook and personal pictures. (See all reviews)

I am extremely upset with HP's strtegy to rip off consumers with cartridges that delivery very low yield or print capacity per cartridge. This is clearly a deliberate strategy to bundle printers (sold at low prices) with ink (high price) in a way that gives consumers no possibility for alternative cartridge supplies. HP has tried to limit use of alternative cartridges e.g., by threatening loss of warrantee on the printer. It is almost to the point that one could buy a low end printer use it until the cartridge is empty and throw both printer and cartridges away, and buy a new one at Walmart's. Isn't this a violation of anti trust law. (See all reviews)

Win XP Home edition / Lexmark Z645 Printer / Black cartridge #17

I was doing fine until I refilled the black cartridge the 1st time. It was working GREAT until - like some1 threw a switch - the printer wudn't print out any TEXT as a stand-alone. I have 2 add "as a stand alone" b/c it does dispense black ink for text as long as it is part of a graphic extension (i.e. jpg,gif,pcx, etc). Or if is within a photo print out. Yet when I try and print a page full of text, it prints BLANK. I have used the following sources 2 identify this problem: Windosws XP sheet which prints the logo - that's it! Word pad / word document, Print Shop, all 2 no avail.
I have replaced the USB cable, restarted Windows, shut the printer off/on again, reloaded the CD drivers that came w/the printer, tried 2 trick the software 2 see if it wud make any difference by telling the computer my cartridge was a new one vs used.
I opened the cartridge 2 insure there was adequate ink. Yet really the black ink IS dispensed
