After an extended lull, the iPod boombox-style speaker category has started to take off: several competing options are now available at similar price and performance levels. Currently sandwiched inbetween iHome's $150 iH30 (iLounge rating: B) and Memorex'
The iThunder and i552 are both solid products, but with very different strengths. The iThunder is ideally suited for carrying around like a traditional boombox and sounds quite good, but its price puts it in competition with some other very good products.
True, there are better-sounding and more highly featured iPod speaker docks out there, but for £70 the iLuv i552 gives a very good account of itself
