provides ultra low-cost 10/100 autosensing desktop connectivity The Cisco FastHub 400 10/100 series of high-performance Fast Ethernet repeaters delivers unmatched flexibility and low-cost managed connectivity to the desktop. As the ideal complement to Catalyst 2900 Series XL autosensing 10/100 switches, the FastHub 400 10/100 series provides ultra low-cost 10/100 autosensing desktop connectivity where dedicated bandwidth is not required. The managed 12 port model, FastHub 412M 10/100, provides the most powerful and cost-effective managed 10/100 connectivity in its class. Embedded Web-based management offers a consistent management interface across most Cisco stackable LAN products. In addition, it supports a wide range of management protocols and Cisco IOS technologies, including Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), four groups of Remote Monitoring (RMON), Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP), and the traditional Cisco command-line interface (CLI). The optional switched uplink modules of the FastHub 400 series will be used to provide dedicated connections over extended distances (up to 2 kilometers) to upstream switches or routers. Customers can add users by stacking any four FastHub 400 10/100 products together using the integrated stacking connectors and a stacking cable, which can be ordered separately. Up to 96 users can be aggregated into one single, manageable logical repeater of 10BT or 100BTX ports---a FastHub Stack 10/100. Management redundancy can be achieved by including two managed FastHub 400 series products. When combined with a Catalyst 2900 XL 10/100 autosensing switch, the FastHub 400 10/100 product line offers the most powerful and cost-effective shared 10/100 desktop connectivity available. (More)
The FS100 series Fast Ethernet switches bring the 100 Mbps switching technology in a compact form factor to the small office marketplace at an aggressive price. These switches segment networks for improved performance, enabling the most demanding multimedia and imaging applications. Since each port is auto-speed-sensing, individual hubs or directly attached servers can easily be upgraded from 10 to 100 Mbps. (More)
