TRENDnet's TFC-110 series Fiber Media Converter transforms 10/100BaseTX UTP/STP media to 100BaseFX media and vice versa. The 10/100BaseTX port auto-senses 10 or 100Mbps connection speed, auto-negotiates half-/full-duplex mode, and auto-selects MDI-X / MDI-II media type. The fiber connection can be multi-mode SC, MT-RJ, or single-mode SC Connector and it has a slide-switch for selecting half- or full-duplex mode. This converter will give your Switch/Hub the ability to interface with fiber connection over a distance up to 75 km. With the optional 16-slot EIA-19" rack-mount chassis, the TFC series converters are the perfect solutions for various fiber media conversions for your network.

Canary's competitively priced CSE-D9Mx series of Serial to Fiber media converters is a cost-effective solutions enabling the integration of Serial devices with Fiber optic Ethernet based networks. The simple setup and installation combined with multi-interface (RS-232/422/485) support, makes a CSE-D9Mx converter a simple tool to easily migrate short-ranged serial devices to Fiber-based networks. By deploying CSE-D9Mx converters, users can retain and continue to make investments in low cost serial devices while enjoying longer ranged, economical Fiber links.Featuring a multi-interface DB-9 connector (RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485), the CSE-D9Mx series media converter family is the right solution when reliably linking remote terminals to host computers is required. They are perfect in such applications as manufacturing process control and security applications. Each unit offers economical, transport of serial data over Ethernet fiber networks with extended distance of up to 60km (single-mode fiber), along with a simple setup and installation.

Providing a complete family of conversion devices, Allied Telesis' Ethernet media converter enables service providers to use fiber cabling to extend the size of UTP networks. Supporting ST fiber connectors, this converter can be used to extend networks with up to 2km of fiber. When connected to auto-negotiating Fast Ethernet switches, this media converter connects the link in either Ethernet full- or half-duplex mode, thereby establishing a link with the greatest-possible bandwidth. The MissingLink feature allows the ports on the media converter to convey the status of their links. When the media converter detects a problem with a port - such as the loss of connection to a node - it shuts down the connection, thereby notifying the node that the connection has been lost. The value of this network monitoring and fault notification is that some hubs and switches are configured to take action in the event of the loss of connection on a port. In some cases, the unit is configured either to seek a redundant path or alert the network administrator of the problem. The media converter features an internal MDI/MDIX switch, enabling the converter to connect to a PC, hub, or switch with a simple UTP cable. The media converter can also test the integrity of connections by forcing data across the fiber cable - enabling installers to check for cable faults without the need for expensive fiber-optic test equipment.
