World beats, indigenous voices, chants, sitars, flutes, bells, and whistles combine on "Nadia" by Nitin Sawhney. TJ Rehmi and Ravi Bal mix deep Banghra beats with wild snake-charming flutes on "Bajaman." The Dum Dum Project assembled this worthy collection and contributes two tracks, with a beautiful female voice invoking spirits over the smooth Goa Trance-esque tabla and chime samples. A second disc features a guided meditation by David Life and Sharon Gannon, the founders of New York's famous Jivamukti Yoga Center. As anyone who's been there knows, they provide much more than merely a guide through breathing, asanas, and chanting. A whole world-view, history lesson, pep talk, and mystical invocation is wrapped up in their session. It's accessible, inspiring, beautiful, and very hip. A Spanish version is also included.
