This is a single attachment station (SAS) adapter with shielded RJ-45 modular connector. It accepts Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) or Category 5 sheath-shielded, 100-ohm twisted-pair (TP) cable with TP-MIC plug. The UTP SAS adapter plugs into a single bus master PCI I/O bus slot. An RJ-45 modular connector interfaces with Category 5 UTP copper cable. The adapter contains on-board diagnostics that execute when power is applied. A two-color (green or amber) LED on the adapter backplate indicates the operating status of the adapter and its PHY port.
