Compaq delivers a solution for corporate servers, enterprise backbones, and high-end workgroups: a family of 100 Mb FDDI PCI Controllers and 100Mb FDDI EISA Controllers to meet the demands of high-performance servers and workstations. These new controllers support combinations of fiber and copper, as well as single attach station (SAS) and dual attach station (DAS) modes. Fiber-optic media supports distances of up to two kilometers and provides increased immunity to electrical noise. Copper media uses MIC connectors. The bracket-mounted LEDs enable easy installation and 'at-a-glance' troubleshooting. These Netelligent 100 FDDI Controllers support a variety of popular network operating environments including NetWare 3.x and 4.x, NetWare SFT III, Windows NT, Windows 95, and SCO UNIX. Compaq Netelligent 100 FDDI Controllers provide a high rate of data transfer between the network and CPU while reducing CPU utilization.
