Collectors Edition by Rick Nelson (CD - 04/20/2004)
"Collectors Edition" (04/20/2004) Oldies Nelson, Rick, Fuel 2000 RecordsIncludes a bonus DVD. Personnel: Rick Nelson (vocals, guitar, piano); Bobby Neal (guitar); Andy Chopin, Dave Morgan (piano); Pat Woodward (bass); Rick Intveld (drums). Includes liner notes by Marc Allan. COLLECTORS EDITION presents Rick Nelson--1950s child TV star turned rockabilly teen idol, early-'60s balladeer, and leader of late-'60s country-rock act the Stone Canyon Band--aging gracefully with all his stylistic irons in the fire. Recorded only a few months before Nelson died in a plane crash at the age of 45, this 1985 concert performance covers all facets of the singer's career, from rockabilly to ballads to country. Backed by a tight band, Nelson delivers his hit singles, shifting easily from rock & roll ("Stood Up/Waitin' in School") to country twang (the wryly philosophical "Garden Party") to atmospheric pop ("Travelin' Man," "Poor Little Fool"), before closing out with the plaintive "Lonesome Town." While a cover of the Stones' "Honky Tonk Women" (with Nelson on piano), is the set's only big surprise, there are enough favorites here to satisfy. COLLECTORS EDITION also includes a DVD containing live footage of the concert.

American Beauty by Grateful Dead (DVD - 10/30/2001)
"American Beauty" (10/30/2001) Oldies Grateful Dead, Rhino Records (USA)This is a DVD-Audio disc. The DVD-Audio content can only be read by a DVD-Audio player. The Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio tracks provided on this disc will play on a standard DVD player. AMERICAN BEAUTY was an instant classic when it was first released November of 1970. It is among the most satisfying and enduring of the Grateful Dead's studio recordings, expanding as it does on the engaging mix of country, blues, and folk materials they first coined earlier in the year with WORKINGMAN'S DEAD. The musical vision of the Dead is more sharply focused on AMERICAN BEAUTY--from the serene reflection and compassion of the opening "Box Of Rain" and the earthy mysticism of "Ripple," to the sensual rock of "Sugar Magnolia" and the anthemic proto-boogie of the closing "Truckin'." But then, every tune on AMERICAN BEAUTY has attained a classic resonance, both from decades of steady airplay, and the way the Dead seemed to continually revive these popular standards for their concert repertoire. Also available with WORKINGMAN'S DEAD on one cassette.
