Oldies love songs 80s in Oldies Music

"Rock 'N Roll Memories: Love Songs of the 70's & 80's" (08/07/2001) Rock & Pop Various Artists, Platinum Disc Corp.Performers include: Little River Band, Juice Newton, John Waite, Air Supply, America, The Motels, Paul Young. Rock 'N Roll Memories: Love Songs of the 70s & 80s is far too brief at only ten tracks but it does a good job of superficially surveying the love song landscape of the 20 years covered. Well, for the '80s, anyway, as almost all the songs are from that decade. Most of the songs were pretty huge hits like John Waite's "Missing You," Paul Young's "Everytime You Go Away" and the Motels' "Only the Lonely" but there are a couple of lesser-known tracks like Cutting Crew's "I've Been in Love Before" and Frankie & the Knockouts' "Sweetheart" to keep you on your toes. Expanded out by ten tracks or so, it might have been a decent collection. Not the way it is now, though. ~ Tim Sendra
