Panasonic's SL-PH270 is a rather unique portable CD player. It includes built-in front-panel speakers. They're probably not what you'd call hi-fi, but they could provide a convenient way for one or more persons to listen to music on the go without headphones.Other than the front-panel speakers, this unit is fairly standard issue. It includes a robust 40-second shock buffer, which should provide virtually skip-free operation even during vigorous exercise. This model also sports the requisite bass boost feature. Panasonic calls it S-XBS.Thanks to the 24-track programming capability, you'll be able to listen to songs in the order you want. Other features include repeat (1/all), resume, random, skip, search and memory/recall keys. There's also a hold function.-- NW
