If you can use Windows & MS office on your home computer you can use this PDA. Its as powerful as my home computer and I can carry it in my pocket. Its great for taking with me to meetings, on airplanes and even at the beach.
Its comes nicely equipped with Microsoft office for the PDA.
Its transfers very easily between the home computer and the PDA, however the sync setup was a little difficult to get going as I first needed to update my Outlook to a newer version. But the softwear to do this was all included. ( See all reviews)

I purchased it primarily to read official documents during travels and listen to audible audio books. It has been helpful in browsing the web as well. I used it when travelling to Europe and Asia. ( See all reviews)

The 1910 is a terriific PDA for basic business needs. Its very light and compact; truly fits comfortably and unobtrusively in a suit or shirt pocket. The screen is radiant. The scaled-down Outlook is perfect for keeping track of apointments, and theTask and Contacts presentations are first rate.
While the battery life is unimpressive, a car charger cures the fault. This is a great product, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

We use several of these PDA in our office. When new one arrived we are fighting for ownership :-)
Besides the looks, there are several other reasons why I like product:
1) reliable - we haven't had a single problem with these computers yet. They comefully configured and are ready to go as soon as all the cables are connected.
2)A major plus for me is the iPaq's multimedia capabilities. I use my iPaq as an MP3 player.
3) The iPaq has scaled-down versions of Word, Excel and Outlook that seamlessly integrate with the desktop versions
All and all, the iPaq is a great PDA. It goes well beyond geek gadgetry to provide functions that you never realized could be useful. Its an extremely versatile unit, and its WAY ahead of Palm devices. And if the price of the color iPaqs still seems too high even after the price drop, consider the iPaq 3100 series. They offer the same functionality, but use a grayscale display, and cost about 60 less

The first one I bought, in 24hrs the screen broke. Took back and tried another. I was happy with the sound and keyboard, but didn't like the layout of the numbers on the keyboard. More like a telephone than a 10 key pad. The wireless features have been nice and easy to set up. I was hoping for printing features but not available, would have to buy 3rd party software. Battery life seems fair. The stylus seems too loose, I am afraid of it falling out too easily and having to replace it. An extra stylus was included. ( See all reviews)

After much research and hands-on experience, I found this to be the best PDA on the market bar none. It's not only a PDA but a MP3 player as well. With 64MB of memory on board it can't be beat. 64M color in a 320x240 display and the feeling of operating WINDOWS from a PC this is a must have for even the casual user. Subtract 200 for the MP3 and the cost justifies over any unit. Bluetooth is the future!

As I work for a company that is developing software and hardware for PDAs, I have had to test with many different PDAs, from various manufactures. Overall the iPAQs seem to have the best quality and are the most trouble free units. Their support is also very good. The 3900 series (3955 etc) has the new XSCALE processor and higher quality codecs (AC97) for improved audio type applications, such as Voice over IP.

Crashes within 10 minutes whenever you try to use it. Wireless gradually deteriorates until it can't detect the wireless card. Crashes when plugged into USB cradle.
I am on my 4th phone in 18 months.
T-Mobile no longer supports this phone. HP will not replace it.
I'm stuck with $500 phone that can make one phone call then has to be reset. It plays the odd game of solitaire before it crashes.
Can't think of much else posititve to say about it.

This is my first pocket pc - and I'm enjoying it, and USING it, far more than I thought I would. Had initial problem getting it to synch with my desktop pc (though it synched perfectly w/my laptop). Compaq/HP Support was excellent, thorough, responsive and took every step to make sure the problem was solved (not like old Compaq Support). I use it predominantly to read ebooks but now I'm hooked on it as a dayplanner. Even used it as an alarm clock on a recent cruise! As it's in the 500+ range it's a tad pricey for many people but it DOES a LOT of things. Well worth it for someone who needs a 'does everything' pocket pc.
