Popcorn Makers

Purchased this popper for sale price of $56 (Canadian). One third of the kernals did not pop and were thrown onto counter and floor. (See all reviews)

This is the best popcorn popper I have ever used. I love popcorn as a snack and I have tried the micorwave bags (yuck), the pan method (using oil), and hot-air poppers. The Power Popper out performs them all. The popcorn comes out light and nearly every kernel pops if you do a full batch. I like to pop the popcorn alone (with no oil added) so I can have fat-free, low calorie snacks. The popper cleans up very quickly if you don't use oil. I only wipe it off with a dish cloth and put it away until next time. The only down side I have found to this Power Popper is that if you do not put in the recommended full 1/3 Cup of kernels, the middle of the popcorn will sometimes burn if you don't listen for the popping to slow down. Firstly, to make it very clear, I absolutely adore my popcorn popper. I can make a huge bowl in less than five minutes, then just stick the machine back in the cabinet with no cleaning needed. Also, it's been a great investment. We don't have a microwave, so I used to have to spend 15-20 minutes over the stove to pop enough to fill my bowl; now, it's perfect popcorn-no burning, no oil, no time!

But, if I didn't happen to be so cheap, I would shell out another $30 to buy a popper with an on/off switch. It kind of scares me a little to see sparks everytime I want popcorn. Regardless, I keep using it, but it's only a matter of time before I trade it in. (See all reviews)
