Panasonic's RF-B11 multi-band radio is a good entry-level worldband radio. The analog, 12-band receiver can tune AM (called MW on shortwave radios) and FM stations as well as shortwave and worldband signals. Like most radios with analog tuners, this one does not offer station presets. LED indicators let you know when a station is tuned in and when an FM station is being received in stereo. Though you won't hear the FM station in stereo through the unit's single built-in 3-inch speaker, you can experience stereo through the headphone jack, though headphones are not included.The sound can be modified using the tone switch, which offers both high and low settings. While batteries will probably be the primary source of power, as this is a portable radio, it can also be plugged into the wall using an optional AC adapter.
