I ordered a Nikon D60 Body only with a separate Nikon lens. My complaint is that the D60 KIT was shipped to me and they simply removed the 18-55mm DX lens, allowing the D60 body to bounce around in the space left where the kit lens would've been. The separate lens I ordered was in a Nikon box, but separate from the camera body and bounced around enough that it was pretty beaten up by the time I got it. Thank goodness the lens inside was OK. I'm annoyed more attention wasn't paid to the 'packing' considering it was a $1200.00 order. (more)

After a previous bad experience with a similar merchant, this was a totally positive
experience. One call to confirm the different ship-to address and a polite query about
additional accessories which I declined. Pleasant, fast and no pressure. Will look here

Although I am used to immediate feedback from online merchants and I felt compelled to call Abe's to ensure the order was received (because I didn't hear back from them for > 12 hours after I placed the order), it was probably unnecessary. When I did get in touch with a customer service person, he did try to up-sell me on other ancillary items (and you know what: if I were in business, I would do the same thing!). At no time did I feel pressured.
Ron, the CIO, took the time to personally e-mail me and advise that he was tracking the order to ensure it would ship complete; then, once it did, he e-mailed me again to advise that it shipped.

I had placed an order on 16th, its 5 days now and the web-site doesn't give me any information about it. Especially because they claim to ship items in 24-48 hrs.
I'm particularly annoyed by their customer service. No reply to my e-mails. My calls always goes to an automated voice (not even a person) asking me to hold on for eternity. This is really frustrating because my money has already been debited without providing me any information on the shipping. (more)

I had placed an order with Abe's of Maine on 04/16/2008. The order was processed the same day and i recieved an email and a call from representative that item will be shipped in one day.
As if 04/22/2008, i have not recieved my order and even i am not able to get hold of any representative since service is very poor.
Even waiting for almost one hour, i am not able to get hold of the representative.
And now when i want the order to be cancelled; it's also not possible since no representative picks up the call.
I hope this situation should not occur to anybody else and would recommend not to buy anything from this online store.

I thought that your customer service person was knowledgable and helpful in advising regard the return of the item purchased, due to it's not fitting my equipment. I think the system is good as a whole. At this juncture I don't know if my credit card has been credited with the return...PRMcGill (more)

Excellent price and unbelievably fast shipping--and free--. This is my 2nd purchase from them, was very satisfied 1st time (camera) came back for GPS. They were very accomodating when I had a complaint, worked to satisfy me.

I ordered a 46" Samsung LCD. To clear up a few concerns I had I called Abe's. I got a
polite rep named Thomas who was able to answer all my questions and help get me
what I needed to hook up and mount my new TV. The TV arrived in less than a week and
the mount and cables worked perfectly. I would definitely use ABe's again and I will
recommend them to anyone who's looking for a great deal with excellent customer

A VERY disappointing shopping experience with this merchant! I selected my items, confirmed delivery availability via ZIP code, gave ALL of my information and processed my order for $1900.00 worth of merchandise. This morning I get an e-mail saying sorry but we don't deliver to Hawaii. Why did it confirm my ZIP code and allow me to select Hawaii as the state then take my CC information then cancel due to not shipping to Hawaii? I have been on other sites where, once the ZIP code is entered the order rejects.
Very poor business practice! I will not refer this site to anyone-no matter where they live! (more)
