The bizarre and campy kaiju eiga (giant monster) TV show GIANT ROBO from the 1960s was updated and revised almost 30 years later in the animé series that shares its name. After a new energy source, the Shizuma Drive, stabilizes the world economy, peace seems within reach. Unfortunately, a new threat appears: Big Fire, a powerful and evil organization bent on world domination. To stop Big Fire, the International Police Organization enlists a team of super-powered agents such as female shooting expert GinRei, the electrified Taisou, and undercover agent Kenji Murasame. Their primary advantage, however, lies in 12-year-old Daisaku, a boy who controls the greatest weapon of all, Giant Robo. GIANT ROBO combines a retro design inspired by classic mecha Animé and kaiju eiga with a tribute to early science fiction manga like those of Shotaro Ishinomori.

From the creator of GIANT ROBO comes this remake of a classic postwar manga. Professor Kaneda, who thinks that he has lost his son during the heavy bombing of Tokyo during WWII, builds a robot, Tetsujin, to replace him. The robot is an ultimate fighting machine, and to keep it out of the wrong hands, Kaneda hides the robot on an island. Years later, the professor's protégé, Shikishima, makes 28 attempts to reanimate the robot before he is finally successful. Tetsujin goes on to join forces with Kaneda's son Shotaru, a young detective, to fight the good fight against the forces of evil. Volume 2 contains five full episodes. In these episodes, the American mafia travel to Japan with hopes of claiming the valuable robot, but are quickly run away by Shotaro. Meanwhile, Kenji Murasame is playing for the other side, trying to help the Americans until he finds out they might not be looking out for him. In a sudden shift, Murasame decides to help Shotaro, but whether he can be trusted remains to be seen.

In the future, mankind has developed the Shizuma Drive, an endless supply of energy that has launched the world into a grand era of opulence. Unfortunately, the battle against good and evil rages on with a band of terrorists named Big Fire aiming to mastermind destruction on a universal scale. Good guys known as the International Police Organization have a giant robot to aid in the quest for justice, but the only one who can control it is a 12-year-old boy named Daisaki Kusama. Still a little boy at heart, Kusama is helped by a large circle of super hero crime-fighter friends known as the Experts of Justice. The EOJ includes characters such as female shooting expert GinRei, the electrified Taisou, and undercover agent Kenji Murasame. This high-action series has a pleasant, retro look that feel like an homage early days of manga and animé. More modern developments in animation technology keep the experience fresh.

The kaiju eiga (giant monster) TV show GIANT ROBO has become a Japanese cult favorite over the years, priming it for an Animé remake some 30 years later. With world peace within reach upon the invention of the Shimuza Drive, the terrorist group Big Fire strikes, revealing their desire for world domination. The International Police Organization creates a team of super-powered agents to battle the criminals, including expert sniper GinRei, electrified Taisou, and undercover agent Murasame. They also have the greatest weapon of all, Giant Robo, but there's a catch--the massive robot can only be controlled by a 12-year-old boy, Daisaku. GIANT ROBO is a combination of retro mecha and science fiction stylings with modern animation techniques. VOLUME THREE is the concluding entry in the series, where the leader of Big Fire reveals himself, and IPO makes a final gamble that relies on Giant Robo and Daisaku to save the world.
