The DT 990 Pro are one of Beyerdynamic's old standard closed headphones. They're durable, comfortable, and sonically pleasing, with slightly strident highs and good bass. At 600 Ohms, they ask too much for a portable, so an amp is recommended. Although hard to drive, the DT 990 Pro perform well and sound good. They have round, velvet ear cups that fit loosely around the ears—very comfortable. The headband is covered by a cushy padding that is extra comfy on the top of your head. They have metal joints that connect the headband to the earpieces, contributing immensely to their durability, and a coiled cable that attaches to one earpiece, eliminating the double cord tangles. The DT 990 Pro are terminated to a mini and include a 1/4 inch adapter.
