Directed Sound Field Geometry (DSFG): With DSFG, the tweeter is offset from the center of the dual woofers. The resulting acoustic interaction between the woofers and the offset tweeter results in the flattest frequency and phase response approximately 15-degrees off-axis from the tweeter. This feature allows you to receive optimum performance even if the speaker is mounted above or below ear level. The DSFG feature can be defeated using the DSFG switch on the speaker's rear panel. The option to defeat the DSFG feature is useful when the speaker is mounted at ear level directly in front of the primary listening position; defeating DSFG provides smooth on-axis response. Acoustic Fine Tuning Controls: On the back of the speaker, there are three toggle switches that may be used to tailor the speaker's output. The "Treble Cut" switch allows you to reduce treble output by 3dB. The "Dialog Enhance" switch can be used to boost output in the vocal frequencies by 3dB. There is a DSFG switch that may be used to defeat the Direct Sound Field Geometry feature; when the DSFG feature is defeated, on-axis frequency response is improved. Mica Filled Polypropylene Woofers: The stiff and light poly woofer cones are filled with mica to enhance their rigidity for fast, accurate response. Inverted Butyl Rubber Woofer Suspension: The butyl rubber woofer surrounds are exceptionally durable, and they offer improved midrange damping for better detail and clarity. ElastoDynamic Hybrid Dome Tweeter: The 1" dome tweeter is made from a composite matrix of elastomers and natural fiber substrates. This tweeter design results in extended high frequency response without any harsh ringing or overshoot. Tonally Balanced to Match Niles' Speakers: To help provide a seamless home theater audio presentation, this speaker has been tonally balanced to match a variety of Niles speakers. This center speaker is tonally balanced to sound well with the HD-LRS, HD525 and HD800 in-wall speakers, the OS10 and OS20 indoor/outdoor speakers, and the CM650HD and CM800HD ceiling mount speakers.
