Designed specifically for surround use in home theater applications, the R-5650-S employs a 6.5-inch Cerametallic(TM) woofer and dual 1-inch titanium compression drivers. Because of its patented horn array, which is two vertically stacked Tractrix(R) Horn-loaded tweeters pointing in opposite directions, the R-5650-S outperforms conventional designs by maximizing diffusion, clarity and efficiency, while minimizing room interactions that blur sonic detail. The R-5650-S draws listeners into the middle of the action through the use of Klipschs proprietary Wide Dispersion Surround Technology or WDST(TM). The careful alignment of the two controlled-directivity Tractrix Horn tweeters, angled opposite of one another, yields an incredibly wide dispersion pattern. Able to function in any standard wall, ceiling or drop ceiling, the R-5650-S can be paired with the Klipsch IK-650-W installation kit (sold separately). This revolutionary kit design incorporates a mud ring, breakaway wire tie and color-coded brackets for easy speaker size identification. It also includes perforated metal wings that easily fasten to the studs via screws, staples or nails. Painted white for easy marking and placement, these metal wings can be folded around the edge of the studs if necessary.
