Text-to-Speech used to be reserved for more full featured GPS devices, but now we start to see it on entry level devices like the 255. While it does not have a widescreen, the smaller size makes it easier to slip into a pocket or purse.Despite the small package and price, the Nuvi 255 can be connected to live traffic systems with an optional traffic receiver. If you only need maps of the USA, consider the Nuvi 205 instead which has the same features but doesnt include map coverage of Canada when sold in the USA.

Looking good on paper, the Garmin Nuvi 755T is an almost fully loaded GPS with a widescreen, multi-destination routing, FM Transmitter, an included traffic receiver and lifetime traffic subscription, and can even optimize the order of a long list of stops. You dont get Bluetooth like that found on the Nuvi 765T, but most people can live without that feature.However under the hood the 755T feels a bit underpowered and often doesnt give you quite enough warning of turns ahead. The older Nuvi 750 or the similarly equipped Nuvi 265WT might be a better option.
